Scar treatment
I started using scar strips 3 days ago and they are AMAZING!! I can't believe how good my scar is looking for just shy 3 weeks out. I still have swelling but it is going down.
2 weeks post op
2 weeks. It feels like it's gone so fast. I took my tape off today and am so happy with how the incision looks. I have developed a small infection in my belly button where there was a suture irritating it. It hurts, hoping at my appointment tomorrow they will give me an antibiotic. Other than that I've had no issues and am happy with my decision.
One week post op
I'm one week post op and drain free! I am loving my results. Oddly enough my biggest worry was that I would hate my belly button and I love it! Having my drain removed was such a wonderful thing, I fell almost normal. I'm still not standing straight but the pain is quite minimal. I've been off of pain meds and started driving at day 3 and attended my sons athletic events starting day 4. My swelling is very much there, especially in my "love handle" area but I've been assured by my surgeon that it will go down.
My recovery has been a breeze and I really think it is all about your attitude going in. I was mentally ready to be up and moving as soon as possible, I think if I went in thinking I had to sit on the couch and recover for 2 weeks it could have gone that way too. Stay positive!!!
