58 Year old Grandma got a new look! - Grand Rapids, MI

Best thing I have ever done! I had a facelift/necklift done, with the majority of the work done on my neck area. I had quite a bit of extra skin that had to be removed from my neck, and I had jowls forming on my jawline near my chin. The loose skin was ugly and I felt like it was just going to get worse as I got older. I'm not a heavy person -- I lost 25 lbs on Weight Watchers 8 years ago and have kept it off. I work out 3 times a weeks and to me my face made me look heavy. My mother has a LOT of extra skin on her neck, and I felt that genetics were not in my favor, so I chose to have the surgery. I didn't experience very much pain at all, just some discomfort, but all very manageable. NowI feel like my face and neck match the rest of my body and I don't mind having my photo taken any more! Some say I look 10 years younger and some can't tell I've had anything done. My after photo below is 2 months after surgery. I am SO pleased with the outcome of my surgery and I have to thank Dr. Alfonso for helping me feel better about my appearance. I would recommend him to anyone!
Update: I am posting a couple of additional photos to show a more dramatic view of my neck (a selfie taken with other people) and one to show a side view after photo where you can see some of the incisions. The after-procedure photo is about 2-3 days after. If you go to "Forums" on this site and go to "Would anyone be interested in sharing their experience", you will find my post detailing my procedure.

You look great! If you don't mind me asking...what kind of neck lift did you have done? I have gotten a couple consultations so far and they are talking about lower face lift which hopefully is gonna take care of my really lax skin on my neck! Were the incisions around your ears? Thanks!

I detailed my facelift procedure in the Forums section under the section "Would anyone like to share their facelift experience". And even though I started my post with "I am 54", I mis-typed -- I am 58. I guess you could say I had a lower face lift because the procedure not only got rid of excess and really lax skin on my neck, but it also improved my jowl line. I did have incisions around my ears and behind my ears, as well as hair-line incisions on both sides of my face level with the corners of my eyes. Good luck with your procedure!

Where are your incisions and do u have any in the nape of the neck?

My incisions were under my chin, behind my ears, on and around my ear lobes and in my hair line on each side of my face level with the corner of my eyes.

Thanks so much for sharing! You look eons younger and more updated. Love that new hair! I'm really happy for you! How long was it after surgery until you went out in public?

Thank-you! I started going out in public right after the two week mark when I could take the compression garment off. I felt fine, but the I didn't want to have to explain why I had to wear the head gear.

Sometimes I have to wonder if the people who say they can't notice anything have their eyes closed or possibly a little of the green eyed monster rearing its ugly head LOL Your neck looks stunning, it is like night and day the before and after photos. You must be absolutely thrilled! It makes me excited looking forward to my surgery date. Thanks so much for posting a happy result, we need more of these.
