34 yo, mom to 2, ready for an upgrade - Grand Rapids, MI

So long story short....I spend last week in the hospital with a bowel obstruction. Had to have abdominal surgery. It was a vertical incision, but not as bad as it could have been. Of course I'm bummed. It was just really bad luck. This is completely unrelated to my recent surgery. Surgeon said it was in the area of my past appendectomy that that I had scar adhesions around my small bowel.

I'm having a good and bad mental days about everything. My PS came to the hospital to see me and reassured me that we can work with the new scar and make it as good as we can. It is what it is. I had to do the surgery.

Physically, the new incision is healing great. My older incisions are looking great. I'm having a really hard time eating and have lost around 7 lbs. I have a really hard time with solid foods. I've been told this will get better in the coming weeks. I'm bloated not only from surgery, but also from an ileus I had after surgery (my bowels didn't "wake up" for 3-4 days). I think the swelling is getting better but its hard to tell. I haven't taken pictures because I just don't want to compare them with the before this surgery pics.

Going on vacation in 7 days and I'm wearing a bikini. I don't care what it looks like. I'm sticking to it.
