I'm going to have one of three microneedling with PRP treatments starting Tuesday, April 11. I'll also be having one BBL laser treatment to address the sun damage from last year later in the month - it's especially evident on my neck. I also have a scar from my cervical fusion last January I'm hoping the microneedling and laser will help lessen.
I am 50 and these are my before photos in daylight with no makeup- except for my skinceuticals spf 50 and some eyeliner. I've had some Botox in the past three weeks and no mid face filler in over 2 years...I think it may be time for some. I'm shocked to see myself looking so dehydrated even though I slather on the moisturizer and "drink my weight" in water every day. I did unintentionally lose about 12 lbs which does tend to show up in my face. I'll update next week!

Thank you! You look amazing! Good for you on the DIY microneedling- I do a little of that every three days for product enhancement at .5mm roller - love it. But now my __** is in need of a much more aggressive treatment with the laxicity starting around the jawline. I'll post a lot of pics - I sure am hopeful!

I would like to mention that I have been rolling my face for about five weeks every three days with a .5mm roller to enhance product absorption. I have also been prepping with hydroquinone, retinol, Vit.C and niaciniamide, hyaluronic acid and shea butter moisturizer all by Paula's choice. Will be stopping the retinol and hydroquinone on Sunday.

Thank you for this post. Not much on RS on the micro needling technique, so this will be very informative. Best of luck on the 11th, will follow your progress! -Priss

After reading some doctors answers about microneedling and my own research I am concerned that the derma pen and other small devices can actually cause "cat scratch" effect on the skin instead of the desired micro channels - so micro tearing instead of micro channeling- I'm considering finding another practice that offers a different device as I'm prone to hyper pigment.

Find an office using Eclipse and get PRP with it. Had my first last week. 53 and trying to smooth out some scars and overall tone improvement. I liked the whole treatment, no pain. Just redness and tightness. Anything that looked liked a cat scratch was gone the next day. Good luck.

It isn't the devices themselves causing the cat scratch effect, it is the technique of the clinician. The microneedling pens should not be dragged across the skin like a dermaroller, but rather used like a stamp, up and down. This techniques causes the micro-channels deeper and reduces the scratch effect.

You are very beautiful and have very nice smooth skin. Even your jawline is great, have you considered something a little more instant and long lasting such as a Biltmore.lift.with Dr Harley? I am 43 and am really considering a whole lift. I dont think you "need" a facelift but as pretty as you are I think it would make you look 28 and like a model, since you already look like one. Hope you understand what I am trying to say.
