I had my procedure done at 9am this morning. The procedure itself was almost entirely painless. Only the initial numbing shots were uncomfortable but no where close to what I was expecting or what I would describe as "painful." I've been told to expect discomfort in the coming days, as I am still numb from the shots, and I will update on the progress. I'm really hoping this works and am beyond excited to potentially wear the new silk hot pink shirt I bought months back in anticipation for this procedure! Hopefully it is good-bye only black shirts and embarrassment forever!!!

Hey there hope you are managing ok and flthe pain isn't too bad. Use ice lots the first 48 hours post.. You will find the pain drops sharply after the 48 hour mark. If today is your first day after this will be the roughest day. Take Advil every 4 hours.. Or if u have access to an nsaid anti inflammatory it works very well.

You will be pleased with the results. You will be almost sweat free for probably a month and then some will creep back. I did 2 procedures to hit it good. And after 1 year.. I decided to go for a third. I have almost no sweat now.. And I was like you.. I soak my shirts half way down my rib cage before. Ugh. I know how u feel.

One of the girls on here have me the idea to fill water bottles with ice and freeze them.. I found these were the best ice packs as they contour fit well. Hope u are pulling through

Thank you so much for your advice! Today the pain is pretty intense but I am also still having a decent amount of sweat? I called my doctor and she said it is possible it is just the litacyan leaking out but I really don't think this is the case. Did you ever experience anything like this?
June 2, 2016
Yes I did actually.. For the miradry procedure they have to inject a lot of saline in ur underarms (in addition to the lidocaine pain killer). They have to do this to puff up the skin and sweat glands so they're distanced from the nerves. That saline solution usually leaks out over a day or two. Usually nothing to worry about. But wash the area twice a day gently to keep it clean. And grab a tube of polysporin to apply for the next 4 or 5 days

You are more than welcome to pm me with any questions as well!

Yes :( first 24 hours is pretty harsh.. The 24 after that is still sore but not as bad.. After those 2 days (48 hours) you will notice a dramatic drop in the pain level.

Do u know what level they did your miradry on? Since u sweated intensely like me... I hope they did a level 5 (which is the maximum) so u get maximum sweat gland destruction
June 24, 2016
Yes, I had a level 5 done. Unfortunately the sweating was only reduced by maybe 40% and I am actually having the procedure repeated on July 6th as my doctor said that this was very uncommon and the sweating generally does not return for at least 2 months in most people. I guess I'm a little unlucky but am happy my doctor is willing to give me a second round free of charge. I am just hoping there will not be a need for a third in the future. :-/

What level intensity did you get it done at ? 4 or 5?

I had a level 5

Take the second treatment free of he's offering it my all means! But yes... The initial procedure paralyzes the sweat glands that weren't destroyed but only for abiut 3 weeks.. From what I foind. Then i had to start using antiperspirant again... I didn't notice a huge lasting difference until after my second treatment

And I actually wanted a year and went for a third. Finally... Now.. I can get by without antiperspirant.. Just need a bit of deodorant.. But it's always dry to the touch now.

U will get there. But yes it will take more than one. Sounds like u sweated as much as I did and grew up with it as well.

oh man, trying to type on a phone isn't such a great idea. holy spelling mistakes in my last post.

What I was saying was that I waited a year after my 2nd treatment, then went for a third.

I'd say after my first, sweating probably reduced by about half, but the first 3 weeks after the initial treatment was completely dry... after a couple months, that's when I could see the true results. Much as you're seeing now.

After the 2nd treatment, same thing.. I had a 3 week period of virtually nothing, then some comes back.. but I'd say overall after that, probably 80-90% less sweat.

I lived for a year like that, still using some antiperspirants. Then I went back for the third. Now it always feel dry to the touch, but there's sometimes a slight odor, so I use a deodorant now and pretty much live sweat free. So I'd say I'm like 96% now? Whatever is there.. isn't visibly noticeable... just some faint smell, would be nice to get rid of that too... but I don't know if thats realistic.

Anyhow, my point, you'd definitely need a 2nd treatment anyway, so if your doc is offering to do it free, by all means take it. The about a month after, you should get a good feel for where you're at. I suspect based on my experience, you'll need a light antiperspirant and notice very little.

But please, let me know!!! PM me or here, either is fine!

Second MiraDry Procedure

malia777
I had a second treatment done yesterday only 2 month after having my first. The first was done at a level 5 and this was was preformed at a level 3. My doctor believes that maybe the machine malfunctioned during my first procedure as I had very obvious sweating the very next day. The second procedure hurt more than the first and I could feel the "hot match" burning sensation and I did not feel this the first time so it is quite possible the doctor's suspicions are correct. Swelling is moderate today and probably will be at its highest tomorrow, as it was with the first procedure. I am noticing some "moistness" under my arms but will give it a few days before I become too alarmed by it. Praying this time around it works and my sweating will be reduced by more then the maybe 20% it was from the first procedure!

How is your sweating now?
October 17, 2016
It has returned slightly but it is a night and day difference!!! I would say it's about the same, or less, of the sweating of a "normal" persons.
