WORTH IT
I had never considered a breast reduction , never really thought I was a candidate but after complaining to a friend about the difficulty in finding bras, my indented shoulders from my bra straps, and hopelessness in finding swimsuits to fit, my friend encouraged me to atleast visit a PS. So in the fall of 2013 I did. Right away my surgeon said he thought I was definitely a candidtate for reduction and felt my insurance would have no problem once they were given my information. In October 1013 my Insurance authorized the surgery with the stipulation I did it within the next 10 months otherwise I would have to be preauthorized again. I was also encouraged to lose weight but told they would still do it even if I did not lose weight. I am 5'7" and my weight was 120 pounds. Over the next few months I didn't lose weight but by May 2014 I decided to do the surgery anyway. I had the surgery Aug. 2014. I also started my weight loss journey that same week since losing 5 pounds of breast was a good start to the weight loss. I wish I had posted during my healing because it is easy to forgot all the issues that came up now that it is 10 months later. I remember that I did not have drainage tubes but I did leak for close to 6 weeks. I was nervous about the shape of my right breast - it seemed to have an indentation. My PS said to massage the area - that did work for the most part although that breast does not have as nice of a shape as the left breast. My PS did not really recommend any ointments for scarring after the surgery but my 8 month check up he suggested I start using the silicone sheets. I used them for a month and didn't see a difference. Now that summer swimsuit season is here it doesn't seem as convenient. I will probably start it back up in the fall. I've lost 50 pounds so far in these 10 months. 2 months after the surgery my bra size went down to 38 C. With the weight loss I am now a 36 C (not quite a full C but not a B either). I love the size of my new breasts. I definitely feel younger looking in the way clothes fit on my. Its crazy I can still wear many of the same tops I had before but they look so much different/better on me now. I do

I felt he did a very good job. He listened to what I wanted. I felt that since I was large breasted for all my adult life I wanted him to lean toward the size of me being small (not just what was proportional - especially since I really planned on losing weight and I knew my breasts would not necessarily get smaller with weight loss).
