Consultations From Other Surgeons

Not good, folks. I've seen 2 different surgeons who know their stuff and both said they would not recommend implants at this point, seeing how the capsular contracture is just relentless and my body just does not like foreign material inside of it (duh). I still get painful inflammation in the left breast where the Scaffolding was and I swear that scar is getting worse. They also said they probably could not get me symmetrical because the left breast lacks tissue from all the puckering from the scar and if they give it too much of a lift, I'd be at high risk for losing my nipple. My right breast is just plain saggy, and can be easily lifted. They mentioned fat grafting too, but the photos I saw, the women just looked odd. Their breasts had side flaps and just overall, did not look good. It doesn't seem like it is worth the pain of surgery alone just to come out...mehhhh, a little better? I'm so disappointed and depressed, I don't even know how to cope with this.

My explant

I chose to explant and remove the mesh and textured implant. I was having trouble breathing and suffered from exhaustion and exercise intolerance. I still have Costochondritis and suffer from flare ups, but I am exercising again without the debilitating exhaustion that lasted for days after. I have also noticed that my face is not as puffy as it was and my thinking is clearer. I always contributed these symptoms to my hysterectomy, but I am convinced it was the implants.

Dr. Bengston removed the textured implants and the Strattice mesh at no cost (very thankful for that!!!) ...but my breasts are absolutely hideous. I am going to see him in one month to talk about my options to fix. I wanted them out and a lift to begin with, but he talked me into this disaster. We will see what he says in July. Stay tuned!

I feel like a freak

3 years after. Besides one breast laying in my stomach and the other still scarred up and hard as a rock, I've developed chondrocondritis and Teitze syndrome and the suture sites still flare up and are painful on top of it all. Left breast developed capsular contracture AGAIN. I'm so confused as to why he highly recommended this and completely talked me out of getting them removed altogether. I'm so MAD!!!
