This week, May 9th and 10th, I went through surgery and complete top and bottom teeth implants. First of all, the staff at this clinic is fantastic and they provide a sensitive and truly caring environment for patients. Patients like me. I have always suffered the consequences of having genetically weak teeth, as well as being a very active person, from playing sports like, Rugby, Football and Hockey. All of which are a good way to lose your teeth. I am also the type who has psychological hurdles to overcome each time I have to go to the Dentist. Having had several different surgeries in the past, some with local anastethia and some with General anastethia, I have been the type of patient who does not do well on General anastethia after the operation is over. The drug would seem to stay in my system a very long time and the other side effects left me feeling sick and nausea. It was always a very unpleasant recovery for me after surgeries. With the system used by Dr.Golpa, I was able to avoid the unpleasant side effects I always experienced with GA,. AT NO TIME, did I experience any pain during the operation. I seemed to be mostly in a dream state and I was able to respond to questions from the Dr and Nurse. Although I am someone who is highly annoyed, irritated and stressed out by dental drills and tooth removal sounds, I have no recall of hearing or feeling any of that and I had over 23 teeth extracted. My bridges were put in place on the 10th. The implants look amazing and for the first time in my life I am proud or unafraid to openly smile, laugh or open my mouth for others to see. Naturally there is a individual time period for patients like me to get used to the feeling of the implants. Especially at this time in which I am dealing with stitches, swollen gums and sore palates, upper mores than lower. For me, this adjustment has been the most difficult part of the procedure so far. As my mouth heals and time passes, I have no doubt that my mouth will feel better and part of my mouth. Within the days since my operation, each day I've been able to notice positive advances. My soreness has diminished and the uncomfortable feeling with the new implants (Which can make you feel claustrophobic in your mouth or give you the feeling that you're going to lose your mind, has subsided greatly with each day. After spending two years losing one upper tooth after another, the Dentists and Dental nurses at this clinic have restored my looks, my confidence/self esteem and as much as anything, happiness back into my life. I have the nicest most natural looking smile of my entire life. I couldn't be happier or more impressed with my results and the treatment of me by the staff. Everything was explained in crystal clarity to me. All my questions were answered fully and I was given a very realistic idea of what to expect during and and after the procedure. I have found that information to very accurate in my case. Considering the circumstances I was in personally, with lost teeth, broken teeth, constant oral soreness and pain, I feel like this procedure, technology and timing has been one of my life's greatest blessings. No doubt there will challenges along the way, but with this practice and staff, I have no doubt that I am in great hands.
