To say that I was anxious about this surgery would be an understatement. I have never had any type of procedure done, so I was terrified. However, Dr. Tholen and his staff immediately made me feel less nervous -- even from the initial consultation. He doesn't hesitate to take the extra time to talk with his patients and discuss their fears/anxieties/expectations/etc. Regardless, I was a little bit nervous on the day of the surgery, but everyone in the clinic made sure that I was okay: from his assistant's emails about pre- and post- operative care, to his anesthesiologist's explanations of what exactly was about to go down, to his thorough approach to patient care, I felt like I was in the best care throughout the entire process. I'd also like to point out that Dr. Tholen and his staff are all knowledgeable and accepting of trans patients, and never once did I feel uncomfortable.
*Dr. Tholen DOES operate on patients under 18, with parental consent. I was 17 at the time of my consultation, but 18 by the time of surgery.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review, and especially for recognizing my staff for the skilled and caring professionals they are! I could not do what I do without their unwavering support and own expertise. Thanks also for including photos, although they are still "early" and my markings below your nipple/areola grafts make it look as if I use an inverted-T scar (I don't!). New photos in a few weeks will be even more representative of your excellent new look! Cheers!
