After breast feeding 6 kids in 12 years my boobs...

After breast feeding 6 kids in 12 years my boobs have disappeared :( they looked great when full of milk but since ceasing bf 6 months ago I can no longer bear to look at them. My Xmas present from my partner was boobs! Nothing makes him happier than seeing me happy and he knew I would never spend the money on a BA myself, that I would feel too guilty and spend it on the kids instead.
So I researched some surgeons and was so happy with the first one I saw that I didn't bother with any others. I'm getting 345cc, high profile, round, textured silicone, dual plane placement, crease incision. I let him choose the size, briefly had some boob greed between the two consults, but due to age, skin thickness and thin upper body, have kept the 345cc to reduce risk of rippling etc.
My surgery is in 2 days time and I have 2 issues I'm fighting with. One, I'm a smoker and was told to stop two weeks prior to my BA, while having cut down I am struggling with this, majorly...physically and suffering emotional guilt that I'm so weak. I have been told it will impact on my healing yet my mind doesn't care, it just wants to feed the craving. The 2nd issue is in the last couple of days my shoulders and neck have had a giant muscle spasm leaving me with chest pain, headaches and numb, painful arms. I had a massage 3 weeks ago which was terribly painful and caused pain to shoot up my back nerves into my neck when breathing in, yawning etc. problem is I can't take anything to stop the spasm before surgery and I'm worried that it's going to cause problems with BA as they are cutting into the muscle and everything is linked. Other than all that, I am so so excited and can't wait to happily walk around the house half naked all day lol

Hi GC noboobs! I could have written your letter myself! I too have breastfed a bunch of kids (only 4 for me) and have been left boobless. I wish to God I got it taken care of right after my last child, but alas, he will be 16 this month. I am curious to know how old you are (you mentioned age and skin elasticity) I have been looking at a lot of before and after photos (mainly looking for someone whose breasts look like mine in the before shot- like yours! :) ) I think I am going to go ahead with it, but am concerned that round ones will make me look like Tori Spelling. I seriously don't want to look fake, as I am a bit on the skinny side (5'7 and 48 kg...and trying to put on weight) I wish you luck with your recovery (since you would be all over red rover by now) and hope you post an after pic and an update! Cheers from Sydney

Hi! I've just turned 40, but have always had thin skin, I've got no fat in my upper body and visible ribs, spine etc I was really worried about looking like I had 'bolt ons' because of this. I'm 2nd day post op and they are swollen but def not bolt ons lol I love them already and so pleased I didn't go bigger, they are going to be just perfect for my body type. It's worth it 150%. I'm on really strong pain relief so will post more later and put up a pic :) keep me posted about what you will decide to do, I'd travel across the world to go to my PS, he is amazing :)

I'm getting anxious, my BA is on the 22nd, not worried about the surgery itself just the pain and inability to do stuff afterwards...

Yeah the surgery process itself is easy as. I'm day 5 today and going shopping, so pain definitely ok for me now, I'm just taking Panadol every 6 hours now. I found ice packs the best, rather than Ice them 20mins on/off, I iced for hours and hours straight, even slept with them on. I've got no bruising and very minimal swelling and it's a good pain reliever. The hardest thing is the boredom of doing nothing, I hate tv so ended up pacing the house for hours haha it's good to move around after surgery, not lay still all day :) also sleep with a pillow under your butt it gets soooo numb

That's awesome, I hope I'm feeling that good on Day 5! I don't do alot of tv but I do like a few shows but with 4 kids I don't get to watch what I want very often so I can catch up on those!! Thanks for the tips! I'm getting more and more excited and nervous :)

A couple of other things for you, take a can of coke with you to hospital, if you feel a bit nauseous after the op it settles your stomach. I've had heaps of surgeries and water makes you sick! I also take my pain meds with coke (I still drink heaps of water in between) the sugar content in it is a huge help (juice won't cut it). Also this may sound weird, but you get pain in the cleavage area, so fill up a condom with water and freeze it, it slides perfectly down the middle of your boobs and is a big relief when you're hurting :)

See that's why I love this site, no one else would know exactly where it hurts or could suggest a water filled frozen condom as relief! Thanks so much, I will make sure my DH has me a coke in recovery, I agree water doesn't sit well on a post surgery stomach, why haven't the docs realized this and offer something else... I have 4 sleeps to go, getting close!!!

A word of warning, I got a red rash 2nd day post op, on both sides of my ribs under boobs which was extremely painful. I've just discovered what it is, frostbite!! I was icing for hours at a time with no cover between ice packs and skin (I had a crop top on boobs so that's why my skin was affected down from my boobs). I have a very high tolerance to ice on my skin so didn't wrap the packs in a tea towel. I'm lucky I didn't cause damage (I hope) because if it turned grey/black it's gangrene yikes! Lesson learnt!

Great to hear that you're doing well. How did you go with stopping smoking? Hopefully you have other things to keep you occupied. My BA is on 21st and I can't wait. Would love to see some pics of post BA as I'm much the same size as you but having 240cc. Meeting with Ps the morning of surgery (ops not till 5 Pm, so all day without coffee!). Will finalise size etc then. Very very excited, but seems an awful lot of money to spend on myself.

I did better than I thought I would! Waiting is the worst and the time spent thinking about it consumes your life and also makes you doubt your decision. Don't feel guilty if it's something you really want. I felt terribly guilty, the money could of been spent on things we need, but now that I have them I don't feel guilty at all... When I look down at myself I feel soooo good :) well worth the money! Missing the morning coffee was the hardest part haha but the day just flies past and before you know it you are at home with boobs! I reckon I must have looked at them a million times in the last 5 days and taken a hundred photos! Will try and post some pics now :)

It's your day today!! Best wishes for an easy op and smooth recovery!! Not sure where you are (NZ?) so maybe you already have them!!
January 21, 2014
Thank you. Yes, my girls have arrived! Feeling pretty good but I'm expecting to be sore tomorrow.

BA was put back to the last of the day due to another health issue I have, however when into theatre around 7pm and was back in my room by 8.30pm. Can't believe how good I feel (at this stage, but still full of painkillers). I've had a quick look and am thrilled with the result so far! Ps has used 240 cc moderate profile & dual plane. Will post some pics hopefully tomorrow

Thanks, yes now day one post op and very very happy so far. No real pain as such, more like heavy pressure on my chest. I'm not going to say much about that yet just in case I jinx it. Even at this stage the girls are looking just like I hoped they would.
January 21, 2014
Thanks for all the great tips. You've provided some very practical ones to try. How's it all going for you?

Can't believe that these babies are mine! I had no idea how big they were going be, found rice sizers and the 3d Vectra system completely wrong in how I was going to look compared to what they look like now. No bruising which is great, have no idea if they are really swollen or not or if they will stay similar to this size in a couple of months time. I do know that I think they suit my body frame perfectly and I have no boob envy/greed at all (yet haha).

God you must be so excited!! I'm still so excited haha just can't believe every morning that I wake up that they are still there!! Recovery is going good, have pain still but it's more like a dull ache I'm not taking anything for it :) I was really happy with my life before boobs, so this is just icing on the cake!! Look forward to seeing how you fare, just remember condoms and coke haha

Good luck Babycakes. Honestly I can't believe how comfortable I feel. I know tomorrow will be much worse, however at this stage on a scale of 1 - 10 I'm probably at a 2.

I had a similar problem after nursing 4. The up side is that I have noticed that women who start with deflated boobs tend to end up with the most natural looking results! We just replacing what used to be there I guess. Your after photo proves my point... Hope all is going well for you!

Thanks Misty :) Can't wait until they get softer, they still pretty hard at the moment.

Wow! ok. now I am jealous. They look so good...definitely not like someone put a couple of coffee cups under the skin. My daughter (a DD, the [RS bleep]!) has been encouraging me to take the plunge, as one of her best friends (age 23) who is soooo tiny all over got incredible results. Soooooo, if your doctor can recommend someone in Sydney (my daughters friends surgeon did a great job, but had a crap manner, very brusque) So glad to hear your downtime was minimal. Good tip about the frostbite...with so many kids, surely you have had enough injuries by now to work that one out!, haha. I did similar when in labour the first time, but with a heating pad. Burned the underside of my tummy - the nurse pointed it out to me, since I couldn't see it. Cheers, Sixbussas
