Nia Bank's Response to my Review

Hello original poster here, just so we don't lose focus on this thread, I went ahead and attached Nia Bank's response to my review. Please find the attached photo the response I received from Nia following my review.

Im a young 26yr lady who has been considering a TT for the past year after recent weight loss. I planned to have the TT procedure at end of May 2014 and have done 2/3 consultations. I decided to consult with several surgeons to find the right match. Dr. Nia Banks was referred to me by a review on Real Self and my father who is a oncologist. The other 2 options were Dr. Singh and Dr. Widder both excellent MD's who provided excellent consultations. Yes the location of Dr. Banks office and where she did her procedures bothered me a bit, however; I chose to overlook my personal biases. Plus, I wanted to "support" her & get a female's perspective on things as the other 2 options are both male surgeons.
Upon arrival at Dr. Banks' office, the admin staff had no idea who I was or what my appointment was for. They had no idea I was there for a consultation, in fact they were under the impression I was there for a follow-up. I was a bit confused considering I paid the $50 consultation fee over the phone. As if the patient identifier concerns hadn't scared me enough, things got worse!
So the admin guy (who was pleasant) escorted me into a room to wait for Dr. Banks. I'm not certain if the information they have concerning my H&P was accurate bc I had no opportunity to review any meds, allergies, etc.
I waited in the room for about a good 20min and Dr. Banks came in. Appeared in a haste, sat down and began speaking. Within the first 3 sentences she mentioned price of procedure being $8-9000. Nothing welcoming, No "what brings you here today", No "what goals are you trying to achieve?". Nothing to want to trust your life and safety in her hands, care, or knowledge. She did not appear to be concerned with thoughts.
Dr. Banks then proceeded to ask if I'd been to a TT consultation before, and so I should be familiar with what the consultation should consist of. At that very moment I had to stop her bc I was in utter disbelief. I myself am a Nurse Practitioner and I can never imagine initiating my patient/provider interaction such as this. I took it upon myself to ask Dr. Banks what her consultations consisted of. She then asked me what else did I want for her to do or is there something I feel she is not doing. I told her that usually when I went to my previous consultations, the interaction were welcoming. The consultation steps were explained, an assessment/examination was done and pictures were reviewed with me so I could get a sense of the surgeons work.
We then went ahead and reviewed pics and did exam. I was led in to meet with another lady Yvonne to review cost, etc.
To sum up my visit, it was terrible. I did not feel welcomed. I felt rushed and not taken care of. My records were not in place which is a concern for me regarding safety. I got a sense that due to my age and youthful appearance, I was pre-judged among other things. Another issue of mine is that she does her procedures at surgery centers and not hospitals. God forbid if anything goes wrong during or after the procedure, I would feel a lot safer & easier already being in a hospital then having to be transported to a hospital.
What I would recommend Dr. Banks' office do is create a patient questionnaire form to screen pts regarding occupation, date they are looking to do procedure, interest, etc. This questionnaire will allow you, the MD, to have a sense of the patient prior to meeting them. If screening is of interest to this office. I will NOT be returning. I will definitely be paying the higher cost ($11,000) for more professional, respectable, and reliable medical services.
