Over the past few years I felt I had suddenly aged, particularly following a hysterectomy four years ago which led to overnight menopause. My face no longer reflected the person I felt I was. There were deep 11's on my forehead, drooping jowels, baggy eyes and everything just seemed to be heading south. I had never had any procedures before and thought I might have 'a bit of botox'.
After a bit of research, I decided to book a consultation with Dr Kieran Bong, at The Essence Medical Clinic.
The initial consultation was free and I thought it might be a bit hurried but I couldn't be more wrong. Kieran asked me what was making me unhappy and talked me through all of my options carefully. This very polite and gentle man explained in depth what solutions I could choose, described them in detail, and listed the advantages and disadvantages of each. He also informed me on what a realistic result would look like. We then decided on a course of treatment together and I left, having made an appointment for a 'liquid facelift', using a technique pioneered and taught all over the world by Kieran.
I spent the weeks leading up to my appointment watching him at various conferences teaching the method, via Youtube videos and I have to say that this made me feel much less nervous about what I was letting myself in for.
The week before my appointment I phoned and asked if I could add an Obagi Radiance peel to my treatment. This was fine. I had discussed a peel with Kieran but couldn't afford the downtime of a medium or deep peel and had initially decided to put this off until I could take some time off work, but now I wanted to start my skin treatment as well as work on the structure of the face. This light peel will be the first of four.
I got to the clinic twenty minutes early, because I am pathologically early for everything - and waited excitedly, looking through the brochures of before and after cases.
At last, it was my turn. Kieran talked me through what we had agreed, confirmed the price again, went through the informed consent and had me sign up before we began.
He cleansed my skin with disinfectant, then drew guide marks on my skin. Next, he numbed the area with a few injections - completely painless.
The 'pulling and tugging' began, as he placed the filler. This was not painful, but I have to describe it as a peculiar feeling.
After doing one side of my face, he made me sit up and check the results. It was so strange to see immediate improvement on one side of my face! I told him how happy I was with this and we settled back to repeat on the other side.
The whole thing was over very quickly and I sat up to have another look. I can admit to actually feeling quite emotional at this point.
The result was subtle and effective, graceful even. I was looking at myself maybe five to ten years ago.
We then followed up with the peel and Kieran added a light touch of Botox, free of charge, at the sides of my eyes and told me I would love the effect in a week or so. I believe him.
This all happened yesterday and today I have a little bruising at the corners of my mouth but no other side effects from my treatment. I have taken some photos and will post them soon. Can't wait to see what I'm going to look like this time next week :)
The box needed the price in dollars so I used an online calculator, the price in pounds is £1450 for the two needles of filler and £120 for the peel.

Thanks, I may have to take a trip to Glasgow. Hope things are looking good for you. I have had bad fillers occasionally, and it's great to hear of good results.
Great review, thank you for posting! I can't wait to see your photos!
Where in your face did you have the injections?
