Horrible!! Made Things Worse

I was told this procedure had a 20% failure rate. i had a 9mm recession with a pocket on lower front tooth. The procedure itself was tolerable, the recovery was hideous. Stitches stabbing into my lip caused painful ulcers. Didn't want to talk or eat. Had to go back & get antibiotics. The smell of the dead graft after 1 1/2 weeks was awful. The top half of it came loose. It was removed early. The pocket has gone but the procedure has damaged the gum on the tooth next to the one i was trying to fix. Very disappointed & stressful. Currently seeking other options & possibly a second opinion with a different periodontist.

Who was the doctor?

I don't want to badmouth the periodontist personally, she is very experienced (i checked credentials first) She was very surprised & disappointed it didn't work better than what it did. Not sure why it didn't work better, maybe I'm just unlucky. I was pretty upset about it as it's an expensive & stressful procedure that didn't work very well at all. I probably need another one but I'm reluctant to get it done again. I have bone loss in the area too which can't be fixed with a graft & will probably lose 1 or 2 teeth eventually because of that anyway.

I am currently having the same problems. And I am so stressed. Not sure what to do. I am also reluctant to get another procedure because each time it keeps getting worse
