56 yo female. I had a pimple like spot on the end of my nose for 26 months prior to Moh's. The first 13 months my general practitioner thought it was related to my rosacea. It failed to respond and grew slightly larger, and bleed off and on. Around 13 months, I went to see a dermatologist, he instantly recognized it as basil cell and ordered a biopsy. Around 14 months of having this small cancer spot, it was first treated with freezing, then 4-5 months later it was C & D. Both failed and the cancer came back and continued to grow. About 26 months after first discovering the cancer spot on the tip of my nose, I went to see a skin cancer specialist that also does plastic surgery reconstruction. He performed the MOH's procedure on Nov 11, 2015 followed with reconstruction Nov 12, 2015. I will update as time passes, since I just had my surgery 3 days ago. There is lots of swelling, but no pain. I had no pain during the MOH's surgery nor any following thus far. Slight discomfort, but not worth mentioning.

So glad you are doing well...just take it one day at a time. They do wonders with the reconstruction, it's amazing.

Thank-you. I will add more pictures as time passes with the healing. I so appreciated others sharing their MOH's experiences on here, that I want to do the same hoping it will help others.

I'm so glad to hear there's no pain! When are the bandages scheduled to be taken off?

Bandages came off right away. The last of my steri-strips came off today so I can got a full view of my nose. I took pictures and posted. I'm very dissappointed with the results so far. I have seen many MOH's before and after photo's of worse case scenarios than my nose, with results that looked like the surgery never happened. To be fair, I don't see my surgeon until for another 5 days to ask him what the hell happened to my nose.

Sorry for my comments. My nose was so swollen that I was way too hasty with my comments. At Day 13, I got my stitches out and my nose is looking better every day as the swelling continues to go down.

I had my spot for years ,then it went away then grew back ,I had surgery on the 9th of this November 2015,I'm down to the bandage came off on the 16th now Vaseline and bandaid till Monday then a new ointment, but its healing well ,the scab and yuk is falling off slowly ,doctor very pleased ,I had a husband and wife team here in Orlando Florida, there great ,thank god next Monday the bandaids are gone, the worst for me was the Hugh bandage on my face didn't like it ,then when he did surgery oh my the needlesnin the open wound was painfully,I had to go two weeks with the open hole before the skin graft was done ,,he took the skin from my neck behind my ear ,that feels a little tight as well but, getting there one day at a time ....its such a long process first biopsy then the Dr then this then that ,I had a hole the size of a nickel on the middle top of the brim of my nose ,I'm taking pictures through the process from before biopsy till now

Thanks for sharing your experience. I am looking forward to seeing pictures of your before and after MOH's surgery. The Surgeon twisted my nose and sewed it back together which is causing me severe headaches. Not sure why he did what he did especially since he told me he's done 1000's of MOH surgeries on just noses.

I have to apologize for my comment regarding my surgeon...its been two weeks now since my surgery and my nose looks so fabulous. I regret my comment as it was the swelling causing the distortion to my nose not the fabulous work my surgeon did. I was not aware of that at the time I wrote my comment that swelling could cause such distortion. Now that most of the swelling is gone, I can see that my nose still looks like my nose. That's the work of very caring, experienced surgeon.

A little less swelling. More bruising showing. Starting to itch a bit. No pain. I shower normally. Pat face with soapy wash cloth, rinse well with shower water. Pat dry, then completely dry bandaged area with hair dryer on low setting.

8 Days after MOH's on tip of nose

My nose has been rather twisted to one side, causing one nostril to semi-collapse while the other nostril is stretched from twisting upward. I'm quite sad with the results, but, I still have my nose and I have not seen the doctor yet since surgery. I have another 5 days to go before stitches come out.

Ive been through this horrible ordeal at the ripe old age of 38. Mine was squamous which is a little more serious. I needed extended plastic surgery. I think you should have excellent cosmetic results as the defect is on the tip and doesnt look huge. Its when it grows on the side an messes up your nose flare is where the cosmetic results are less than optimal. I wish you the best. ive been there so i know what it is...its has infidelity changed me..

Thank-you so much for the well wishes....and you are right....I got my stitches out today, and my nose is healing very well, and its looking better with each passing day. My doc expects my nose to look perfect again in about 90 more days of healing, and if not, he will make it look perfect with surgery, but right now, everything is healing as expected, and it looks like all should be good in 90 days. Keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks again, and I sure hope you were able to regain a good looking nose with your plastic surgeries. Take care!!

I had same problem with collpseudo and bought nose cones. I just bought a new set because my recent surgery caused same problem. It really helps me breathe at night when trying to sleep. I bought max air. Good luck. Oh..and it takes several months for swelling to really go away and skin adjust. You are not alone.
