Just had my Botox injections today. I wrote a whole review and then it didn't post so I'll try to get most of it back on here and will be as detailed though. I have been dealing with excessive sweating since I was first entering puberty and have decided that it's time to finally do something about it instead of just feeling uncomfortable. I have tried any of the over-the-counter medication deodorant and didn't really like the way that they made my skin feels some of them I had reactions to and it just was not a good solve. So this let me to going to talk to my dermatologist at my yearly check up about different options for the excessive sweating under the arms. He told me that I needed to try something called Drysol before thinking about doing Botox treatments. The pharmacy told me when I went to go pick the Drysol up that they were on back order from the manufacture and had no date of when I could fill that prescription. So this prompted my insurance to cover the Botox quicker than their normal process.
Today I went in and medical assistant took me back wipe my under arms with alcohol and let me sit for a couple minutes with them out drain today I went in and medical assistant took me back with my under arms with alcohol and let me sit for a couple minutes with them out drying. The doctor came in and put a whole bunch of tiny dots under my arms this is going to be where he was going to inject. So then he started the injections I think it was about 20 needlesticks per side. It wasn't extremely painful but it wasn't great either . I'm not supposed to put deodorant on or exercise for about four hours to let it do its job and then it should hopefully last a couple months up to six they say. So it's hard to write this treatment at this time as worth it since I haven't seen the results. But I will update as it starts working or if it doesn't work either . I put some pictures on of the dots and this is after getting the injections about two hours ago let me know if you have any questions my fellow sweaty friends

Hi! Botox is the best!! Problem solved. It has been real hot outdoors and I normally would have rashes from so much wetness and nothing. It really is an amazing treatment. I highly suggest it! I couldn't get the Drysol because the manufacturer had problems so my insurance picked up the Botox faster then normal. Good luck to you!

Yes I been having under arm problem for some yrs to the point I get boils all the time. My right arm pit is disfigured cause of it. My doc sent me to the hospital to get my sweat glands remove but it never happened cause they would c me make another appointment be for a surgery date by this time I lost my insurance due to job lost.

Oh no! I'm so sorry! The Botox is such a good route but it is super expensive out of pocket with no insurance. Have you looked into Miradry laser?

Hi - my daughter has been suffering with hyperhidrosis since puberty as well and in fact once had botox for her condition several years ago. She had to stop getting the injections because of the cost. Can you confirm that your insurance was willing to cover it?

I have done gone this done for about 10 years now. My insurance (Carefirst) covers it. I had this problem since age 10. I tried Drysol as well but it didn't work. This is the only thing that has worked. I only need it twice a year now. Before I went 4 times a year.
