Restylane Destroyed my Life - Germany, DE

Very frustrated
2 years after my first post nothing changed. I had some treatments in the meantime but I still have the scars / fibroses. I have uploaded 3 pics. The first and second shows the scars, the third I have retouched, it shows the way I would look like without the scars. I don't know what to do. I am very frustrated...

At first sorry for my bad englisch. I hope you will understand me anyway. I am a man, 34 years old and I come from Germany.
In 2005 I had an injection with restylane in my nasolabial folds. 3 years later the restylane spread to the direction of my philtrum and it grew some bumps on the left and right side of my face. Cause of that my face looks very asymmetrically. I went back to the doctor and she injected hyaluronidase but the bumps just became a very little bit smaller. She just said I had bad luck and she refused to treat me again.
So I went to almost 15 other doctors. I got a lot of hyaluronidase injections again. But it didn’t help. Some doctors said the bumps are adipose tissue other said that they are scars. Both emerged because of the restylane.
So further I had 2 lipolysis treatments, 6 radiofrequency therapies, 2 clear and brilliant laser therapies, 1 fractional radiofrequency microneedling therapy, 1 ultherapy and almost 20 injections with cortison. But no matter what I do the bumps don’t dissapear. My latest treatment is a resur fx therapy but it seems that this treatment doesn’t help me neither.
I am very very distressed. Since 7 years I try to remove the side effects of the restylane without decisive success. Before that I was such a lucky person but since that my life is ruined. I can’t work, I have no social life, I spent the most time alone at my home. That‘s not life! I don’t know what I can do.
Is there anybody who has the same problem? Does anyone know a doctor who can help me? I also would go to the USA if there is a doctor who can remove these dumps. I can’t longer live like this...

Hi Lijan,
I mean this with respect, but I think you may have become too focused on looking at this area on your face. I honestly can't see anything unusual about your face, even in the areas that you circled.
Nobody's skin is completely smooth, and if you stare at any part of your body for too long, it will start to look strange. I think that continuing to have treatments will only make you more worried about it, and I don't think anyone else would even notice anything unusual about your face.
It might be worth thinking about whether there is anything else in life that is worrying you, and perhaps it might help to talk to someone about how you feel about yourself, because from a totally objective observer I can say that there's nothing strange looking about your face at all, and it's not ok for you to feel like you can't go out and have to be alone all the time.
I hope you start to feel better soon, and wish you all the best.

Exactly what I was thinking. "Destroyed my life" seems extreme - even if there are bumps. I can see saying that if your face was badly burned in an accident, but to say it about something that isn't visible and causes no pain...??

thank you for your comment. I can understand that you say that you don’t see anything unusual about my face. I get the same reactions from my family. But the bumps or more precisely coves are definitly there. I can feel them and I can see them. On theses pictures it’s not so good to see. Maybe I will upload some more pictures where the bumps are better to see.
And you must know that everyone is different. There are people who don’t care about that when this would happend to them. And there are people like me. For me it’s a disaster. I have to say that I give much attention to small details. This affects not only but primarily my appereance. Often I get panic attacks when I look in a mirror and see these bumps. I get nervous, I begin to sweat, I have to breathe quickly and I feel to be on the verge of fainting. My face looks so unsymmetrical. I feel I am defaced. My life is so limited because of that. So I can say that the restylane injection is to blame that my life is ruined.
You are right that there are also other problems in my life which are worrying me. But these problems I already had before I had the restylane injections. At that time I felt good, I was a lucky person altough I had lots of problems. But now with the bumps in my face everything is much more difficult. My life has completely changed. Nothing gives me pleasure. My aim is to get this lucky feeling back I had once. This I only can handle by removing the bumps. That's my meaning.

yes it seems extreme. But how would you call it when a person gets so much psychical pain because of these bumps or coves that he can't work, has problems to meet friends and has no more joy in his life?

It seems the surgeons are right that it must be scar tissue, b/c hyaluronidase injected that many times would have dissolved the filler, and aside from that I have never heard of filler lasting that long. 5fu injections work great for dissolving scar tissue. Surgeons in your area who do fat transfers will likely have some experience with using 5fu. It may be determined 5fu mixed with small amounts of kenaolg (steroid) are needed if you aren't making good progress. It could take a few rounds of treatments spaced apart.

The doctors know this side effect but they won’t tell it you because then a lot of patients wouldn’t consent the treatment.
I agree that the hyaluronidase should dissolved the restylane and that the rest of the bumps is scar tissue.
Do you have experiences with getting 5fu? I have heard about this medicament from a doctor but he says that it has a very strong effect, much more stronger than cortison. From the cortison my skin was a bit damaged and I’m afraid that 5fu makes it worse.

I never had it done. I was thinking bout getting my eyes done cause i have a dark circles and bags but im kinda nervous though
I wonder how much experience that doctor had with 5fu, b/c as you can read on here, 5fu is generally considered safer than steroid injections. Kenalog has a track record of causing tissue atrophy. Many surgeons proceed with 5fu first because tissue atrophy is not a concern. Some will not inject steroids unless they feel they absolutely have to. Other doctors will start with plain 5fu and only after that has not worked will proceed to mixing 5fu with small amounts of kenalog. Yes, I have had 5fu. You can pm me privately with questions about it. I hope this helps. Also, if you can feel hardness, lumps and scar tissue (as opposed to just being able to see puffing etc), you may consider placing your thumb inside of your mouth, and your pointer finger on the outside (or visa versa) and lightly massage in a circular fashion. This could help break up scar tissue. Have you tried needling with deeper needles? They say at least a 1.5 is needed to address scarring. I know lip lines and other lines and around the mouth area respond very well to deramrolling, so maybe that could help you break up residual scar tissue. I have seen significant deep looking scars made to look much better with this procedure. I think 5fu has the best chances of working in this case.

I don't say that restylane is a bad product. Many people are happy with the results of restylane. But you must know that in rarely cases the restylane can make bad adverse reactions. I have trusted my doctor when he said that the restylane has no adverese reactions and will dissolve completely. That was a big mistake. I went too late to the doctor again. If I were going earlier to the doctor he maybe could dissolve the bumps with hyaluronidase. But in my case it was too late because scaars have been emerged. So if you really want to make a restylane therapy you have to go to the doctor instantly again when you see a symptom wich is not normal.
