I'm just a few days out, scared nervous and excited. I have lots of questions concerns lol. I've wanted this shortly after I had my child. I gained 80 pounds with my pregnancy. I'm 5"6 and 80 pounds is a lot in 9 months. Reading everyone's reviews and seeing your pictures has helped me out so much. I think it's important to have this support

Welcome to the community.  We will be thinking about you this week and sending happy thoughts your way for surgery day.  The nerves are normal s don't panic.  Are there specific questions you have that I could help answer?

Thank you. My ps says I don't need to wear compression garnet, does anyone think that it helps with swelling?
May 4, 2016

I never wore one either and did fine.  You are going to have swelling regardless, might as well be more comfortable without one.  It takes time for the healing process so be patient with yourself.

Thank you- today is the big day and I'm looking forward to going to the flat side

Checking in to see how are you doing this morning?

Hi!! :-) so this is pretty painful no doubt , I am flat for most part. It's hard to differentiate the burning / tightness with actual pain. It's very hard getting on the to lot. Feels like it's sits to the ground. I invested $17 in a walker and am so glad I did. I can't seem to get comfortable and maybe have gotten 4 hours of sleep since surgery. Overall am pleased with results

Yes this all sounds correct for the first week!   Hang on and things will improve with a little time.   Keep on top of the pain meds as prescribed.    Also make sure to be drinking plenty of water and taking a laxative.  The pain meds will bind you up quickly if not.

I think I stared my stool softener a little too late. I am getting some colace today. I'm worried when I do get to go it's going to be painful. This site has been so helpful.

How did the weekend go for you?

I am improving each day. Starting to see some light at end of tunnel. :-) I am loving my flat tummy even though I am very swollen. I am so numb and I am not sure I can put on real clothes as I'm scared I may hurt myself by pulling or touching the " area"
Any suggestions?
This board has been so much support

You will not hurt yourself by wearing regular clothes or touching it.  Make sure at this point that you are not doing any lifting.  Right now you need to be as comfortable as possible with clothing.  Be warned that your regular clothing may not fit so well right now due to the swelling.  That will improve with time.

It's done!! At home recovering

Today is Friday , I had the surgery Wednesday morning and it's painful but I am slowly feeling better. So hard to find a comfortable position. Constipation... Well that struggle is very real and can be very painful.

Oh that's cool. How's your recovery coming along? My tummy is so numb.
User Avatar

My tummy is numb as well. Recovery is not too bad. Some times I have a burning stinging in my right side when I walk...been reading that it's the nerves reacting to the trauma. Walking slow and steady to the bathroom. Stay on top of your pain meds! It will help. I have an elevated toilet seat that I feel helps so much. I am eating just fine, no loss in appetite. I think because I was prescribed oxy & not Percocet. How about you?

Mine was outpatient surgery as well which is so crazy to me. It should be overnite stay
User Avatar

I stayed overnight. It was nice because the nurses cared for me and assisted with the bathroom walks. Also kept up on checking vitals.

I hate getting up and down - I invested in a walker. Helps a lot when I do need it. I was prescribed Percocet a few times a day. No wonder some of the people on here are doing so much. Did you ask how much your skin weighed? Did you get full tt plus lipo?
User Avatar
May 7, 2016
No I did not ask that, I forgot. Yes I did get a full TT plus Lipo. Today is day 3 for me and I am feeling a lot better as far as pain goes. You can check my pics on my review. Walking is a little hard but make sure you are doing it, it helps recovery. I am not rushing anything..I am fully reliant on my husband who is doing everything for me. How is your pain?

I had to couch today and ouch!! That is painful. I'm drinking lots of water so I have to go to restroom lots :) my husband is taking great care of me, feel pretty helpless most of time

Cough
User Avatar
May 7, 2016
Oh yea. I having coughed but if I feel I need to cough I just clear my throat. Don't feel helpless. Yes it's hard because we are so used to doing things on our own but just let your husband take care of you. He knows what you went thru. Do you have an elevated toilet seat? I will tell you it helps so much. Go find one at Walgreens or Wal-Mart maybe.
User Avatar

Have not thought about elevated toilet seat. That's a great idea. Can you get up and down on your own? My drain ports are on my side - so sleeping on side is not an option :(
User Avatar
May 7, 2016
I can but my hubby still assists me every step of the way. But I'm tell I g you. That toilet seat is a relief. My drains are on the sides too and yes it's quite uncomfortable since I'm usually a side sleeper. I'm hopeful that they will be out soon. I'm also still hunched over so my back is killing me too. How about yours

I had surgery on the 3rd of May. The road to recovery is so long
User Avatar
May 10, 2016
May I ask why did you go to the dr to get yours done? It seems like a lot of people go there. Yes it is a long road but it will do be worth it in the end
May 11, 2016
Hi yes I went to dr. Because it was cheaper. $4400 for full body liposculpture and tummy tuck. Dr. Luis Tactuk Simo is a dream. He is an exwllwnt ps.

Wow that's a great price but I would think by the time flight n stay is incorporated in pricing is the same
May 11, 2016
It was $6500 in total. Where are you from? I'm from the Bahamas so I would have had to travel in any event.
May 11, 2016
Where I'm from the surgery was $15,000. So I saved more than half.

OMG, when I say I know how you feel ^ today was #5 for me and the CONSTIPATION.. was so real. I thought I was doing great drinking 72 oz of water, prune juice, fiber, etc. But it didn't help, laxative was needed and sweet old FLEET. I am doing so much better, I have no appetite...

Day 7 and can I say ladies: It feels so good". I am standing straight, no back pain thanks to a wheeler my friend let me use. Last night I got to sleep on mu side somewhat but it felt amazing. My doctor came me a RX for volume yesterday and it works much better than the pain pills, I am more relax and the pain from the lipo is not as bad. Today I even helped my husband & daughter in the house. The walker, elevated toilet seta, ice packs and laxatives are things you need for smooth recovery. Most important thing God's healing hand on you & a good support system, caring ps & staff.. EACH DAY GETS BETTER....
