$7,900
I had sliding genioplasty with Dr. Eppley in May 2021. I flew from out of state and the cost of the surgery was $7,900 plus the hotel, uber, and travel fees. The agreement was to move my chin forward 10 millimeters with no vertical changes. Dr. Eppley did move my chin forward 10mm, but he also vertically lengthened it 5-6mm without my consent. He also lied about it in the post-op follow up, claiming he bent the plate upwards 3-4mm to prevent the chin from becoming longer. Dr. Eppley also left me with very noticeable step-offs / indentations to the sides of the chin. It looked like my chin was glued on to my jaw.
I know this because aside from the fact that my chin was visually longer and weird looking after the swelling subsided, I had a second opinion consultation that revealed this to me through x-rays. It was also revealed to me I had ptosis of the chin muscle, burnt bone, and scar tissue as a result of having surgery with Dr. Eppley. I had to pay $12,500 in my home state to shorten my chin and fix these issues with an actual oral-maxillofacial surgeon and not a plastic surgeon whose main strength is being a businessman. I fell for Dr. Eppley's marketing skills, reading his blog posts and thinking he was some kind of surgical genius. I'm writing this review to prevent people from making the same mistake I did.
I attempted to get my money back through my credit card, providing my credit card company with the second opinion letters and surgical reports they requested, but Dr. Eppley's office fought tooth and nail to ensure I did not get my money back. Oh well, you take some losses in life.
Stay far away from Dr. Eppley.
