Provider Review

Overall rating

First, Dr. O'Dell is amazing! He did my Botox and I saw him without having to schedule a consultation. He is very warm, welcoming, and thoroughly explains everything without talking down to you. His partner, Mary Daniels, on the other hand... can we say rude and unprofessional? I scheduled a consult to see what I could do for my enlarged pores, poor skin texture, and dark spots & scars from old acne. First, she didn't even stand and greet me when I entered her office. I could tell she instantly judged me by my atypical colored hair and tattoos. She later on confirmed her bias by the way she talked down to me like I didn't understand basic anatomy. I told her I wanted to learn more about Fraxel Clear + Brilliant and she became preoccupied with a nonexistent acne problem she kept trying to make me believe I have because I get the rare pimple around that time of the month. She suggested Birth Control and ANTIBIOTICS when my skin is currently clear and I never get a pimple so bad that it leaves a spot. When I expressed that what she suggested seemed a bit overkill for the occasional zit she rudely shot back "Well, I see oil on your forehead right now!" Not only that, but she kept focusing on the cost of the procedure and, after I kindly told her cost was not a concern, she still felt the need to tell me they offered a 12 month financing option. Once again, I let her know that paying up front would not be an issue and she let out a huff like she didn't believe me. Trying to redirect the conversation, I mentioned how my pores and scarring from teenage acne was my main concern and she said that the Fraxel Clear + Brilliant could help but that it would cost $5,000 for 5 treatments and (again) upfront payment would be necessary. At this point, she made it obviously clear that either she didn't want my money or she didn't think I had any to give so I thanked her for her time and left. Again, Dr. O'Dell is absolutely amazing and I will continue to go to him for my botox and any other services he directly provides. Mrs. Daniels could learn a thing or two from him. I would not recommended anyone, especially African American women, go to Mrs. Daniels unless you like being treated like you're less than.
