Third Generation Rhinoplasty! Finally!

I've wanted a nose job ever since puberty came crashing in like the Kool-Aid man. My Great-Grandmother and my Grandmother had the procedure done back in the 1970s, and the family nose curse was passed to me.
I am 39 years old, white, and have no internal issues with my sinuses or my breathing. This is purely cosmetic.

I started looking for surgeons last year, and met with four or five. Being in SoCal, my options are limitless, but most surgeons are pumping out the Barbie, button, ski-slope nose. Not that it's a bad shape if it fits your face, or it's just what you want, it's just not what I want, so it was hard to see the full scope of what the surgeons could do. I ended up picking Dr. Hardesty not only for his more than reasonable pricing, but mainly for his experience and scope of work. He's been in the game for a long time, and the pictures of the before and afters were beautiful. The work fit the patient's faces and looked natural.

The office staff is friendly and warm. The waiting time for my consultation was short, and Dr. Hardesty took his time with me. We talked about what I wanted the outcome to look like, he checked my breathing (just in case), and he walked me through the whole procedure, including the healing process. Not once did I feel pressured into anything. He agreed that the popular nose shape (ski-slope) wouldn't fit my face. I was honestly a little worried that he would suggest it, I don't know why. I ended up scheduling with him a week or so later (I needed to confirm dates with my partner to make sure he'd be home). One plastic surgeon (I won't name names here) tried to get me to schedule right away and told me that once I left the office, even if it were to think more about it or check dates with my support system, the price would go up 25%. I laughed and walked out. I knew Dr. Hardesty was the guy to use after that.

At my pre-op appointment, I arrived early, but he still didn't come into the room for almost an hour and a half. That was a little irritating, but I had nothing else to do and nowhere else to be, so I just sat and waited. We took before pictures again since my consultation pictures were from May, and I discussed what I wanted again. I am having the hump removed and the tip of my nose refined. We also went over the healing process for the first few days, and then, most importantly, all the things I needed to do in the three days leading up to my surgery. He gave me lists of things to do and buy, as well as put in for my prescriptions, so I have them ready. He told me to bring pictures of what I'd like (either other people's noses or photoshopped pics of myself). I was told where my surgery was going to be and the process of getting there. He was very thorough and even provided me with his personal cell phone number to call if I had any questions or concerns.

My surgery is in 5 days! I'm so excited!
