How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

Revision surgery time!

So...my ortho has been having trouble getting my bite to align post surgery, I have a cross bite on my right side. I'm also still fairly asymmetrical (even though much improved). My surgeon has told me that I am a complex case and I could be looking at 2-3 more surgeries to get it right. All fine by me as he's happy charge so that I'm left with no gap payment and will only have to pay for the anaesthetist.

Currently I'm booked in for the start of March for a maxillary advancement and another genioplasty. I think there's still some crookedness in my mandible so I'll see if he wants to revise that as well.

6 weeks post surgery

I'm down to fortnightly reviews! The surgeon is just about ready to hand the reins back over to my orthodontist to get my teeth perfect. I'm still taking pain relief every other day but some days can get by with nothing. I have some extra swelling in my left cheek but that is because I'm "cheek biting" according to the surgeon, not sure what can be done about that but I'm seeing my ortho today so maybe there's a wire sticking out or something. A word of warning - your teeth will get gross, they're really hard to clean properly and if you're like me and drink a lot of sugar to get the calories in they're not going to look pretty. I'll try and get a scale and polish done next week.

Dr. Ching is a very intense man and extremely knowledgable and confident in what he does. He can come across as a bit arrogant but he seems to be very busy, and to be honest I am a grown up and don't need my hand held by the surgeon. I had to prompt him to prescribe strong pain relief and had to also see my GP and present at the ED to obtain more.
