Low BMI gastric sleeve

WORTH IT$13,000
I'm on here to help anyone seeking a low bmi sleeve , most times liposuction isn't the answer because it doesn't address visceral fat , had a consultation with the same doctor that removed my lap band 4 years ago and felt so comfortable I am returning to him after gaining around 30lbs and scheduled for a customized sized gastric sleeve (i do not want to be skinny, I'd like to remain slim thick if this makes sense ) and now since this pandemic and lack of my old lifestyle I've gained weight again (30 lbs ) and I need to address it . This is me now , I'm 5'4 187 or I fluctuate but usually around a 30bmi . Anyone in this community that's had a low bmi sleeve ? Any advice ??? Surgery date 08/29/22

Hi! I'm keen to follow your gastric sleeve journey! I'm also getting a gastric sleeve with bmi of 30, scheduled for January 2023 in New Zealand (home), but that will hopefully be brought forward. The worst thing for me in the lead up is having to maintain the bmi of 30 or more in order to qualify for surgery. I mean it's great being to eat as much as I can stuff in, but I feel revolting at this weight and my mind is always telling me I need to get the weight off now by any means. My life feels like it's on hold until I can get on that operating table. Have you had to do a liquid diet in the lead up? Or would that lower your bmi too much? Good luck with the surgery!! Keep us posted!

As im low BMI no liquid diet as apparently shrinks kidneys or liver which isn't good Only today which is pre op day im having lentil soup water consistency so haven't actually had anything and I'm really hungry and have a migraine

I did do a clear liquid diet 3 days pre op, I read a lot online on different medical findings and also saw videos on YouTube that explains why the 3 day pre op diet (different than the 2 week no carb no fat diet) this is needed to empty out your stomach and it's easier for your surgeon to work on, so there's no residual food in there. No lactose either. Didn't hurt at all, how did your procedure go ?

My procedure went well... The post op pain 2nd day due to Gas was unbearable, thankfully I was given injection for pain and some liquid medicine for the gas...

Saturday morning was GSV surgery... Sunday I was encouraged to walk and have water... Monday... I have been started on very thin soup...

There is an issue which many people may not be aware of... Until you open your bowels you do not leave Hospital...it is when you pass bowel movement that gas from laproscopy operation is released... Until than you keep experiencing the Gas pain... Monday was also day both IV and Drain were removed, thank God.. Although the Drain hole in skin is stinging and hurting.. Much more than any keyhole scar..

I know you aren't allowed to have NSAIDeds, but are you allowed to have migraine medication? I suffer from episodic migraines, and have found Sumatriptan to be ever so helpful for migraines..

I wish I knew how to update this journey on this app, I had surgery on 08/29/22 and I only did a 3 day pre -op liquid diet and I was miserable, because there was family parties and gatherings those days . I'm so glad I didn't eat thought because my surgery didn't hurt at all!!!!! Not even that uncomfortable gas sensation you hear about. The girl next to me was moaning about gas pain and how when we were out of surgery she had to "poop" it's like omg you're going into surgery and you couldn't stop eating to save your life literally, i think maybe this is why her recovery wasn't smooth like mine . Luckily i was 183 which is me naturally and I didn't have to over eat to meet a certain weight requirement because I paid for this surgery out of pocket , I didn't use medical insurance for it .

Absolutely no pain

ladyloops
So surgery came and went, my surgery was at 7:30 am when I came out in was in a recovery room (2 beds ) and the girl on the other side kept on complaining about her severe back pain and upper chest gas pressure . When staff asked us if we had urinated , she said “I also passed a bowel movement “ I was so confused because she was clearly a bigger person with a much higher bmi and she was told to be on a 2 week liquid diet (I chose to do the minimum of 3 days so I wouldn’t loose too much weight but enough to clear out my stomach ) when I asked her she said she didn’t stop eating at all, so I believe this is why her recovery wasn’t as smooth as mine . When I say I didn’t feel a thing , I literally didn’t even feel anything, the only annoying thing was my IV line . They say after surgery you will have extra pounds because of the so many bags of IV fluids and it takes about a week to get rid of . I will update pics later today , I can definitely see my face deflated I look so much nicer I think, less facial bloat . My feet do not hurt in the morning, no more plantar fasciitis, and no more sweating and it’s been ONLY 6 days !!! It’s amazing how much fat affects and damages our body . I’m new to this and maybe I don’t know how to post successfully , but ask me anything you’d like to know I’ll reply . Again I’m a low 30bmi cash patient so this is what I will know .

Highly recommend - gastric sleeve after weight gain

ladyloops
I had my lap band removed after having in for over 10 years , my medical insurance referred me to Doraiswamy, he removed it and everything was perfect for over 4yrs till Covid hit and I my healthy life I was living had to change because of gym closures and the pandemic. I gained 30lbs and although it doesn't sound like too much for gastric surgery I knew I had to change for my health, I returned to Doraiswamy to pay for my gastric sleeve. I must've seen over 100 videos on YouTube and followed many IG accounts and was ready and very scared , UNTIL I spoke to the Dr to set up an appointment and he gave me the percentage of surgeries gone wrong, (close to zilch, zero, nada) and with his very peaceful rapport and knowing he is one of a Bariatric Surgeons of Excellence (yes it's a thing) , I changed my fears into EXCITEMENT . All his staff and medical team are very well coordinated, I highly recommend this surgeon

Thanks for your updates! It's brilliant to read how you've been getting on after your surgery.

Hello! What was your BMI, if you don't mind me asking, when you went to get the sleeve done? I hover around 30, but work out 5x a week with strength training, Spin Class, and HIIT training. It's been 2 months, and I haven't lost one pound! I'm devastated, as I am trying SO hard!

Hello, my bmi was 30 , in that pic with the pink dress , I was around 183 and I am 5'4-5'5 , I did body pump for 10 years and I think that's why my butt was round but I couldn't lose weight no matter how hard I tried , if I managed to lose 10lbs , sooner or later I would give up the strict low processed carb and intermittent fasting and re gain the weight , I'm so glad I'm loosing weight and eating whatever I want in smaller portions ,I'm currently 165 but the doctor told me I will continue to lose weight up to a year , I should be working out but I haven't , it's a beautiful thing , highly recommended
