Gastric Bypass for my Teenage Daughter

Just wanted to add a review because I did notice when doing my research not much reviews for gastric weight loss surgery in the Dominican Republic…. I have had plastic surgery couple years ago in the Dominican Republic I had a positive experience. This time around procedure was for my 14 year old daughter that suffered from obesity for the longest time when insurance gave me the run around started looking into gastric weight loss surgery abroad. I had a few great option in the Dominican Republic but Dr Jose Abreu really won my trust so did 2 more but ended up choosing him. He is super responsive, responsable, caring, attentive and many other great qualities.
We arrive in his office Monday May 23 his assistant was already waiting for us it’s was a long day full of testing (blood work, X-ray, ultrasound ect) and visits with cardiologist, psychologist and pre anesthesia department seems like a lot in one day but with the help of Chris one of 3 assistants that Dr. Abreu everything went smoothly and she was clear for surgery that same day. We were than set up for surgery next morning Tuesday May 24 7:00 am.
We arrive a doctors office he was already there waiting for us is walked us down to admission where we assisted in my daughter intake paperwork and then taken to the surgery location where I accompanied my daughter to pre surgery area where she was prep for surgery we wait for about two hours OR we’re busy at that time. She was then take to OR and I waited in waiting area doctor advised surgery will take about 1 hour 25 min and with prep time about 2 hours and she will then be taken to post op where she will stay for 2 hours. Once surgery was finished doctor came to get me let me see my daughter for a moment before taking her to post op.
Around 3:39 his assistant call that her room was ready and walked us over my daughter arrived in her hospital room around 4 pm. She very comfy no pain just tired as expected. That night doctor check in on her before he went home. She stay in the hospital or clinic for a bit over 24 hours. Must say La union médica is very clean clinic she was place in what they call a suite super comfy ( we were brought coffee juice crackers every couple of hours must clarify it was for the guest in the room as she was only able to drink clear liquids) next doctor was in the room checking on her by 6:39 am he is just amazing and return later that evening around 7pm to let her go home
I can tell my daughter never experienced pain mostly complain of gas, she took pain med first two day out of precaution and had it handy just in case she asked for it. The doctor was always reachable he really does not speak English but his assistant do.
My daughter is super happy with outcome.
Last time she weigh herself at doctor office 10 day after she had already lost 18lb
As of now we are on day 17 no pain no nausea or vomiting everything is going better than expected.. will try to keep updated every few weeks
