Spatz3 Gastric Balloon
Thank you to everyone who took the time to document their experiences with gastric balloons. I just had my procedure two days ago, and I am completely fine. I was prepared to be sick as a dog right after- but thankfully it didn’t happen like that. I’ve read many others say they spent high hundreds for the prescriptions needed- I spent about $40. I forgot to take The Prilosec meds starting a week prior to my balloon insertion- I only was able to take it the day prior. The procedure itself took 15 minutes , when I woke up in recovery I was given three IV bags, and had to swallow three tiny ounces of water three times before I could leave. Throat was sore for a day and a half. I was taking the Zofran, every 5 hours day one, every 6 hours day 2, and now in day 3, I’ll start taking it as I need it. Dr. Halim Charbel did my balloon. I opted for the Spatz3 instead of Obera because it can be adjusted. If I hadn’t been able to tolerate it they could make it smaller, also at my 4 month mark it will be refilled to jumpstart weight loss again. The Silhouette Clinic has been awesome, they use a surgery center in MD for their procedures. I despise sugar free drinks, but I am following the guidelines to get the best results. I understand 30 lbs lost is typical, but my goal is 50 lbs. I have not vomited at all, worse part honestly was my ride home from my friend. It took us 2 hours to get home due to traffic, and I was bumpy ride. All I wanted was to be back in bed. I’ll try to keep updating.
