I was very excited to finally do this, I have been wanting to for a while. I did a lot of research and read other reviews here for microneedling before scheduling my consultation. On the way there I got butterflies in my stomach and was suddenly a little nervous but everyone in the office put me to ease. So here's my backstory:
I was one of those teenagers everyone hated because I was blessed with perfect skin. I could wash my face every night or never wash it at all and my skin was flawless. I didn't appreciate what I had when I had it. After having kids my hormones changed and I started getting hormonal breakouts on my chin and jawline and got so self-conscious about it I would send my husband to the grocery store for me because I was too embarrassed to leave the house other than when necessary. I always wore makeup outside the house because of my breakouts. Once they had cleared up, my fair skin would still show the red mark from where the blemish had been for months and I was continuing to conceal blemishes that were long gone. I found a great skin care regimen that worked wonders to clear me up and I got so many compliments on my skin! Every time I got a little teary eyed because they didn't understand what I had been through to get that back. I still had marks on my chin and jawline from previous breakouts and a few tiny scars. A recent round of stress increased my breakouts since January and I had some new additions to the old marks I was concealing. I said enough is enough and text my friend who works at a medical spa to see if she could get me a consultation. Also, after having 4 kids very close together, I have some stretch marks on my lower abdomen. When I did my consultation, she told me we could add-on the stretchmarks for only an extra $100 and I was sold!
Day of: Tiffany took excellent care of me! I had just washed my face prior to coming in, so she did a quick wash and then put a numbing cream on my face and stretch marks and let it absorb for 15 min before wiping it down. Then she used the Skin Pen II all over my face which felt like nothing! A little vibration here and there, especially on my nose, but it wasn't painful at all. Next up she did my stretch marks. She adjusted the needles to 2.5 mm for that. Her next apt had pushed their time back, so since she had a little extra time to spend, she went over my stretch marks 4 times, which she said is the maximum number of times. She applied pure hyaluronic acid to my skin, and then a tightening mask with avocado. My face and tummy were quite red and I went home and stayed in the dark for the rest of the day, just taking it easy. That night I used the after treatment skincare I purchased at the spa, containing a priming oil, firming avocado mask, and medical grade barrier cream. I rubbed the oil a bit to hard on my tummy and felt a stinging sensation the same as when you do that to a sunburn. It went away in about 20 min.
Day 2: I woke up with much of the barrier cream and priming oil still on my face which was nice. I was still quite red but it wasn't painful to touch. I washed my face and tummy gently with cetaphil and then followed up with the priming oil, firming mask and barrier cream. I stayed inside most of the day. I was told I could work out and wear makeup again starting today, but I was nervous to get sweat and makeup in my pores so I took the day off from both. At night, I gently washed with cetaphil and followed up with the priming oil and barrier cream and firming mask on my face, and used Clarins Tonic oil on my tummy.
Day 3: Still pretty pink all over my face and tummy, no swelling or pain. I noticed a little bit of peeling skin around my chin area and some dryness on my cheekbones. Although the oil was still pretty slick on my face from the night before, I still had topical dryness. I showered and used cetaphil to remove the products on my face, and some skin came with it. Then I reapplied everything I had done the night before, but added my pure vitamin C and sunscreen to my face first. I still don't want to work out yet or add makeup on top. I'm waiting for the redness to fade away before I do. I need to workout so badly and I feel so bloated, but I don't want to rush my recovery. I'm paying hard earned money for this procedure and I want to make the most of my recovery process. I will post photos soon.

Hi, thank you for posting! Do you have any indication how long the redness will last?
