increasing redness at almost 3 weeks post op
hey ladies! tomorrow I will be 3 weeks post op. I'm still experiencing swelling and tenderness... also the incision sites under the breast itch like crazy. I'm concerned about increasing redness on the free nipple graft and I'm not sure if it's healing normally. I don't have fever and there is no oozing or discharge so I don't think it's infected... idk? should I call doc tomorrow? our am I just worrying too much and it looks normal?
2 weeks post op.... nerve regeneration
Hey ladies! I'm 2 weeks post op and healing is going well. The one thing that is driving me crazy is the nerve pain. Last week, it was just short bursts of burning.... but the last 2 days the skin on my whole breasts is super super sensitive to the point that even having fabric touch my skin could send me through the roof! so I ve just been hanging out in my room topless for the last 2 days. I really hope this eases up soon!!! pain meds don't even help!
swelling and burning
The last 2-3 days I've felt more swelling, but today they were especially engorged. There's no redness or sign of infection, they are just equally swollen. Dr Is not concerned... says it's normal. I've also felt strange burning sensations on my nipples and other areas of my breasts. Sometimes it really burns like hell for a split second and then stops. This had increased in frequency throughout today so I called the ps office and talked to the nurse. She said it's normal, especially with FNG and it indicates nerve endings are regenerating, so it's a good thing. It hurts like hell, but it eases my mind to know it's just a sign of healing.
