Hi, RealSelf community!
I am a combination of nervous and excited about my upcoming surgery so I decided to write a review to keep myself sane. lol I know a lot of people say it, but I have wanted this surgery for as long as I can remember. I have been teased for being 'disproportionate' for years because my legs grow fairly quickly at the gym, but no amount of chest workouts will give me the boobs I want. It's also very common for people to mistake me as a small child, and if one more person tells me 'oh, i thought you were fourteen' I might explode. So here I am! I'm going to attach some similar pre-op pictures that were taken in different rooms because I feel like the lighting makes a huge difference in size perception.
I had two consultations, one in New Tampa and one in Gainesville. These two consultations were completely opposite experiences. At my first consultation, I felt very rushed and although I'm sure he is a great surgeon, I left feeling very uncomfortable and completely backtracked to thoughts of possibly not having the surgery. About a month later I met with Dr. Gregory C, Gaines in Gainesville, Florida for my second consultation. His staff up front and the girls working for him are all so sweet and very smart. While I waited in the lobby, I heard them discussing med school applications and when one of the girls walked me back to the consultation room she took the time to answer every single one of my questions in more detail and with more honesty and details than I feel like I got out of the actual PS in Tampa. This girl ROCKED and really knew what she was talking about from the anatomy of the placement options to what would actually go down in the operating room during surgery.
Once Dr. Gaines came in I knew this was where I would be having my surgery. He was so helpful and informative and he answered all of my questions as quickly as I could ramble them out with absolutely no rush. He explained to me that he doesn't like to have clients pick out cc's because they can look so different in everyone's bodies based on their personal internal anatomy so he asked me to pick out 'wish boob' pictures. He said these would be hung on the wall during surgery and they would initially use air sizers to blow them up until I look like my wish boob pictures and then they will check the cc's of air used and place that size implant. Love it! So much more comfortable with this technique than my uneducated, non-medical professional self saying "I want 350 ccs" and finding out they looked good on another girl on Realself but they look ridiculous on my body. lol I am SO pumped up and cannot wait to get closer to my surgery day. I'm sure I will have lots of questions to post here soon enough!!

I love all your wish boobs I’m also thinking about surgery after breastfeeding two babies and toddlers would you recommend to get more than 1 consult?
September 26, 2018
I did! I got two but they were by doctors in the same practice. My experience with the first was much like hers. Rushed and I just didn’t feel comfortable. The doctor I went with had me pick out a size, but we then picked out a range in case what I wanted didn’t fit since I was “very small” according to my plastic surgeon. I explained the look I wanted and that I wanted round, silicone gel. Other than that, my plastic surgeon decided during surgery which profile to go with and he also used irra-operative sizers. I also had asymmetry of my breasts. I ended up with exactly what I wanted in CCs, but with an extra- high profile so they would fit. I’m 6 1/2 weeks post op and so happy I did this!!
I also don’t have any kids so my skin has never stretched. I was a 34A before and I’m now a 34DDD but they look natural. My plastic surgeon was amazing!!
But yes, always get more than one consult!

I was told to find girls who started with the same amount of breast tissue as me to begin with but that's been a struggle...

As an Older male, Why are you on the page of a very young woman, looking at, and commenting on her breast augmentation surgery pictures?

Three weeks pre-op.

I took pictures in bathroom lighting and natural lighting so I have something to compare the post-ops to. Bathroom lighting is nicer to me than natural. ????

My breast was like yours.now I am with mentor silicone memory gel high profile 250cc and I am a full B.are you thinking to put textured implants?
January 30, 2018
My surgeon also uses the mentor silicone memory gel implants, I'm not sure whether or not they are textured. Do you think one is better than the other? I'll definitely ask about that at my pre-op visit which is one week before my surgery.

I just went back to double check my paper work and it says smooth implants!
January 30, 2018
I took textured implants I think that's a big mistake because of alcl.....alcl appears only with textured implants....I m really sad and I can not feel happy because of my choice.
January 31, 2018
Do you have Alcl or are you just worried about it? I found this website and it made me feel a little better about going through with my choice of getting implants.
https://delorenzi.ca/blog/patient-advisory-regarding-breast-implants-and-anaplastic-large-cell-lymphoma-alcl

If you do not have it or have any symptoms of it, please don't lose any sleep over it yet. :( If you need anything at all, let me know! I get really anxious about things like that too sometimes... :/

"Canada had 34, 340, 000 people in 2009, with 610 homicides, for a rate of about 1.8 per 100,000, so you are about more than 4 times more likely to be murdered than have an issue with ALCL. The accidental death rate for females in Canada in 2007 was 16.6 per 100,000 population, so that means that you are about 25 times more likely to perish in an accident than have an issue with ALCL. If we are looking at reported deaths from implant associated ALCL, then you are over 415 times more likely to die in an accident than to die from ALCL."

This made me feel better about Alcl and more worried about an accident ;) ha ha ha

Please keep us updated on what size you get and how the surgery goes. I also have breast about the same size as yours and am thinking about breast implants. I have consulted with two doctors so far. I told the first doctor that I wanted c cups and that doctor had me try on sizers of 400 and 450. The second doctor I saw said that that size wouldnt really be possibel since I have so little breast tissue to start with. He suggested 275, he said that size would work with my body and be proportionate for my frame. I really prefer the second doctor better because he actually cared about how the size will look on me rather than the first doctor that just wanted to stuff me with the largest implants rather than caring about how it will fit my frame. You're not alone in having AAs, I'm also that small and concerned about what size will work for me. Good luck with your surgery!

I will definitely keep updating throughout the process, I've been obsessed with other girl's updates since I scheduled my surgery and I hope that my review will help other people too!! :)
I'm so jealous that you've had the chance to try on sizers, neither of my consultations involved them so I'm hoping the pre-op might.. Im going to attempt to make rice sizers at home too! At my first consultation, he said he would suggest between 325-375ccs to get me to a full C/small D, but at my second one (with the surgeon I picked) he said that due to my lack of breast tissue they cannot promise over a full B if I want to avoid the look of circles stuck onto my chest, but they will do the best that they can to make me look like my wish pictures! I feel like we had a very similar experience. The first doctor I went to seemed like he was very into the fake boob look rather than picking what fit my body the best like my surgeon said he will.
These two girls have a similar body type to ours and I think they both had great results with 400/420ccs! Every before and after I come across and love on this website seems to be right around 400ccs... lol

Thank you for the links; they were helpful. Those girls do have sizes close to mine. I’m gonna schedule another consultation with the second doctor I saw just to go over a few more things and size one more time before I schedule the surgery with him. He didn’t ask me for wish pics and I’d like to show him what size and type of cleavage I hope to achieve. I’d be happy to have full b cups or full Cs. Whichever size he can get me that would still look natural on my body. I have a big butt so I definitely need more boobs to balance my body out. I feel like Camila Cabello, big butt but no boobs. Hopefully it all goes well!

i have the same size as yours and been contemplating on getting boobs on and off for 3 years now. i always get scared and afraid of what others might say but then they do not know how we feel being flat-chested and always wear stick-on silicons just to feel curvy...hopefully i will be decided soon esp if I will not plan on having another child anymore. best of luck
