I am curious...what age were you when you had the first done? Just wondering about my hopeful expectations of getting at least 10 years out of my recent face lift at 61 years old. :)
July 30, 2015
I was 54 when I had my first lift

The $4000 seems more reasonable. Not sure where you are from, but if from the U.S. you might consider prices in Canada, especially with massive exchange rate difference recently. I had a face lift done in Bangkok 4 1/2 months ago and would suggest a couple of things. First if everything went right the first time, the second may not be as good, but it may be better based on your surgeons attention to detail and their skills. I have to get a revision behind my ears from folds of not properly placed skin, because my decade experienced doctor seemed to be leaving for his holiday before he was done. neither side look the same either like a different surgeon on either side behind my ears. Also, if warranty revision work is required that doubles your airfare and transportation. Hopefully all goes well and you don't need to fly back. Also I was released from hospital without seeinga doctor when in Bangkok. These things make me not want to return for revision with same doctor. I asked for pictures of his work, and he does not send any to show..apparently this is a bad sign. At nearly 5 months I still feel the stitch area and some slight numbness. Behind my ears is actually embarrassing and I need to get work done to make the face lift not look obvious. I would suggest asking for every possible investigative reassurance you need before accepting a surgeon anywhere. Once in and done it is hard to look back. Nervousness is a natural form of self preservation...for a good reason. Make sure you remove any doubts about the surgeon and procedure. I did not ask enough questions and still cannot get answers from my surgeon, other than fly back and we can fix the problem. Even his fix is not the same as recommended by several surgeons who offer their opinions on this site.

Thank you for your concern I have done my homework on him and all sounds good I am going to the French international hospital and the doctor has Esperance in reconstructive surgery in France also he got good review in this sight, however if don't feel comfortable when I meet him I will walk away I will keep you updated, after my first lift 11 years ago I had the itching for about 10 months and I think it normal so don't worry it will go are you happy with the result
August 10, 2015
From what I have read on Canadian PS websites ( b/c I researched a great eye lift result reviewed here on RS) they often do not take patients from other countries. Don't know if the insurance they carry makes that financially risky or what the problem is. But I was very disappointed to find that to be their policy.

I think you should better do your face lift with Dominic Bray in LoDon. If you see his review on real self or his website then you dont want to go another surgeon. Im vietnamese. But i think surgeon is not good and lie. They just want money. You must becarefull
August 5, 2015
Huynh, Seeing "results" that are only a couple of months post op is really not seeing the real results. Bray takes his official pics very early at about 6 weeks out and there is still substantial deep swelling that improves contours, fills hollows, brightens and tightens skin making it nearly flawless. I haven't really seen any photos of his patients who are 9-12 months post op or who aren't animating their face with smirks or smiles or heightened brows all of which fill out cheeks and lift the face/ eyes. So......where can one research his longer term results on RS?

Thanks for your thoughts I will keep you all updated and follow up for the 12 months so this may help others
October 24, 2015
good point grace. I've also questioned why photos of his patients are only few weeks after surgery, that is odd.It takes 6 months to a year for the swelling to go down properly showing new contours.

Just curious-you didn't say what part of the World you live then – what made you choose Bangkok and Vietnam?
August 1, 2015
I live in Australia to have facelift here very expensive I was quoted $49.500 Australian dollars and only $4500 overseas

My only comment is why do you go out of the country? I just got a facelift two weeks ago - and he is close by for all the follow-ups which leads me to believe you must stay there for after the lift for at least 3-4 weeks?
August 1, 2015
I live in Australia and very expensive here $49.500 Australian dollars and only $4.500 overseas and I was very happy with results last time
August 12, 2015
Wow that is a lot of money in Aus. To get the same operation in Canada is only 9,000 to 12,000 CDN. If I had a choice i would do it back in Canada the second time, but only because I have a revision surgery required, due to sloppy work. Like I said before, I think, I was not seen by the surgeon or a doctor before release from Yanhee Hospital in Bangkok and I suspect because he was away and did not want the work to be seen by other surgeons. I am only guessing because I cannot get any answers from him now. All he says is come back to Thailand and we will fix it, yet his fix is different from all the suggestions I have had on this site, besides I feel that he is hiding the truth, which means I am dealing with an unethical so called professional. I have been living here in Southeast Asia for over 5 years now and that is a fairly accurate overall feel for the professionals in these countries. It is very hard to find one that is not in it simply for the money. Be careful and good luck with your surgery.

Thanks I had my first in Bangkok bumrungrad and it was very good the main thing is do background on surgeon, if they have done max fax facial and reconstruction they know what they are doing , again thanks and I will keep you updated

October 23, 2015
Hi tws4nr, I take you are a canuck too? Just wondering if you have had your revision surgery and if you did decide on Canada?
October 23, 2015
I have not had the revision yet. Near 8 months. No response from Vietnam. I just arrived in Bangkok to get some feedback from my surgeon. I just want to hear his explanation. He refused to answer online and I suspect because he worries about anything he says being used against him. A good surgeon in my mi d has nothing to hide. It would take nothing less than complete open transparent believably honest answers to all my questions before I would use him to fix his work. Mostly i want to hear what he has to say. Oddly the last few months I have had this sporadic pain in my lower leg that i rubbed and the next thing I am feeling tingling in my foot and then my arm hand and left side of head... weird but I am thinking I had a small clot or something so I now wonder since that has only happened last 6 months or so if from original surgery. Not sure but scary. I took aspirin and will see specialist here hopefully. With just happening I will put off any surgery for a bit either way. With my surgery I just want to see what his explanations sre for forcing me to fly bere to get answers... then holiday and maybe some blood thiner or clot buster meds... not sure. Kind of odd and scary at same time... hope all is well.
October 23, 2015
Gosh that is no good with the tingle, please look after yourself, try and enjoy your holiday but be careful

I highly recommend laser. You really have to add in the added downtime. As long as you're fine with that, I'd say you'll love the results. Also not all PS are good with the lasers. Make sure and ask to see photos of patients who have had it done by them.
August 1, 2015
Thanks for your advise I will do that also how long for you to be able to go out in public would 2 weeks do it with make up
User Avatar
August 15, 2015
I had CO2 laser around my mouth at the time of my facelift and then 3 weeks later CO2 done on my whole face. It will be two weeks since that procedure on Wednesday. I go to the PS on Monday and hope to be given the okay for makeup. I know it depends on the stage your skin has healed. I think it is not a time thing but just your individual healing.
August 15, 2015
Oh this gives me something to think about as I have to fly home 2 weeks after I will speak with doctor maybe I will wait till I get home before laser as they may not let me on plane if I look bad
User Avatar
August 16, 2015
Personally I wouldn't fly after laser for myself at this stage of my healing. After laser your face really swells and atmospheric pressure, even with the pressurized cabins would be too much for me. But this is just for me. I actually have a situation in my life where a short (3hour) flight is sort of necessary but I just can't do it. My face just swells too fast and too much.
User Avatar
August 16, 2015
And you won't look bad at 2 weeks. You'll just look like you have a sunburn by that stage. Again it sort of depends on the depth of your laser treatment.
August 17, 2015
Thanks I think I may just have chemical peel not so drastic, and wait till I have more time for laser thanks for your help
August 29, 2015

I am Vietnamese too. After reading your comments I feel that you need to open up your narrow mind. There are good and bad doctors everywhere so don't implicate they are all bad. Don't disguise yourself as Vietnamese
December 17, 2015
You just need to do research to find the good doctors in VN and there are are many.
December 18, 2015
If you read my comments I have only the highest regard for my experience in vietnam hospital and doctors and nurses I also have never said I am vietnam isle I am Australian , and would highly recommend anyone to go there for a facelift I do not know where you have gotten the idea I only say bad things also where I have said I am Vietnamese But you are right there are good and bad everywhere and do your homework

I personally wouldn't have a facelift & laser done at the same time. My surgeon didn't even recommend me having a blue peel the same time as surgery stating that surgery was uncomfortable enough without the added discomfort of a peel. I assume laser might even be a little worse. Good luck & keep us posted.
September 16, 2015
Thank you and I hace decided to only have chemical peel this time and laser a bit later
September 16, 2015
Good luck!
September 16, 2015
Than you for your support
September 17, 2015
A beautiful face to start with !!!! looking forward to seeing your results. Good luck.
September 18, 2015
Thanks !!!
September 17, 2015
I had a blue peel done with my FL Didn't do much. My cousin had some laser with her facelift around her mouth only. If your talking about a deep peel or a laser resurfacing your going to be uncomfortable with bandages on for your lift and oils and creams for your face but they do do both if you want. Good luck and let us know how your doing when you come home.
