After lumpectomy, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, I waited 10 years to correct the lumpectomy defect. Dr Wald Jr. used fat grafting and Strattice. After 18 months it all went wrong. Looking for someone to do the revision. The breast is flat, has developed seroma, haematoma, skin necrosis, pain, and chronic inflammation. I can't find any literature on my procedure.

Try Dr. Zelken. He just did an LD flap to repair fat necrosis after 18 months post IORT in a breast that has had 3 recurrences. I was skeptical and have had one bad PS in Orange County but I am very happy with the outcome. He repaired the wound, getting back to normal healthy tissue and have the option of doing some reconstruction later if I want it. However this was a case of a breast undergoing radiation twice in 15 years, 6 surgeries and the last was supposed to be a highly rated oncoplast who did a lot of damage and I came to Zelken with an open supporating wound and he fixed it. I am healing well, it looks good and he said give it time to heal and he could do more aesthetics which I probably won't do just because I am sick to death of surgeries and have had too much BC to even care. But it still looks good without a nipple and the recovery has been quick and clean. Check him out in Newport Beach. Well trained as a wound specialist as well as PS.

Thank you. I'm not sure if a surgeon can remove the Strattice in my breast, which will remove the nipple and areola. If I have extra skin can a surgeon avoid carving out a body part? I have no implant, so my breast is flat like a pancake. I would like to get an implant, but my breast is still bleeding after 8 months and Dr's don't know, and have never seen anything like it. "My breast turning purple". Some say it's the result of the fat grafting not the Strattice. No one knows anything except that it would be easier to remove the Strattice, the nipple and areola and then a year later do some kind of reconstruction. They suggest fat grafting. It sounds like more of the same to me. It's very frustrating and confusing not to mention costly.

What happens when the procedure fails?

If anyone has had this procedure, or if any competent surgeon has performed this procedure, I would like to know if it was successful.
Thank you for your support.

New Jersey? That is really far away. I don't have the means to travel that far for a fat graft that will cost up to $10,000.

Feedback on Strattice Mesh after 3 years

lydia crawford
I had a fat graft with The Revolve System Backgrounder by LifeCell in 2014. The fat was injected in my left breast. An incision was made after the fat grafting procedure and Strattice Mesh by LifeCell was used WITHOUT an IMPLANT. The Strattice was 8x8 and used to correct the lumpectomy defect. My lumpectomy was in 2005.
In 2016 I started having problems with the left breast.
My breast is better (2017) but I would like 150mg more fat to match the right breast. Can I get some feedback?
