ORIGINAL POST

Hi -- I am one week post op for full tummy tuck...

Hi -- I am one week post op for full tummy tuck and small amount of lip on hips.I am 51, 10 pounds or so overweight and in excellent health.

I have always wanted to do this. Even before having children (set of twins, one C section and one "natural"), I had a sagging tummy -- perhaps genetic.

Anyway, I finally did it! And I love it. The pain the first two days was severe...take those pain meds religiously to stay ahead of the pain. After day two, the pain moderates. Still sore and bent over, but I see that this is goimg to possibly be the best gift I have ever given myself.

I highly recommend...be prepared for the pain. Have lots of help at home for first week. Research your surgeon carefully and get references. I loved my Dr!

i am 61 and now three weeks post op. i was hesitant due to my age but i am in excellent health and in decent physical condition so the MD assured me a good resutl with bno complications. i couldnt be more happy. i am thrilled with the results. two days of feeling bad but pain meds keep you comfortable at rest for those two days. 7 days from surgery i returned to the gym to use the treadmill and elipitcal for 2 mile. 9 days i returned to my normal work routine as a home care physical therapist but wear the binder for my heavy duty cases. i used the the pain pills for 3 days and switched to extra strenght tylenol for a few more days after. my only discomfort is a constant tighness feeling of my abdomen DUH!!!!! Be prepared for a difficult two days and a week of having those nasty drains attached to your body. the results for me were increidible.

I am 58 and am about to make the appt for the tummy tuck and breast reduction. Did you have a pain pump after surgery? I dread the after surgery pain with both surgeries at once but want it over with all at once. thanks for sharing!

I am almost 53 and am planning a full tummy tuck in the next month. I had a few abdominal surgeries for medical reasons prior. I am a bit anxious but also looking forward to this procedure. What pain meds did you have post surgery? I have a high tolerance to pain meds since I had previous surgeries within the last couple of years.
