I have had huge legs all my teenage and adult life. No matter how much weight I have lost my legs remained the same. My ankles, knees and legs not only unsightly but ache constantly. 40 years old and have unfortunately missed so many things in life with family and friends because I was hiding this lower body. Time to live life to the fullest!!! And picking the best doctor in North America that specializes in this very procedure and my condition. Exciting and nervous. Surgery is October 4th and today was my pre-op ... the markings make it all so much more real. B12 and plenty of iron, having a blood transfusion with two units at time of surgery.

Yes they are unfortunately but at this point I figure whatever will give me the best results I will take the doctor recommendation. :)

Results are the most important, I agree. My scars go into my calves a bit too. I didn't want to look lopsided with skinny thighs and huge calves so I went for it!

Good Luck! You are in great hands with Dr F! I had a lower body lift and arm lift with him 6 weeks ago and he's excellent. Thighs and boobs will be next. Keep us posted and extra prayers for your iron.

That is what I think, too! I've had two liposuction procedures for lipoedema (as it is called in Australia & U.K.) and this girl has all the symptoms. Strange that the plastic surgeon did not diagnose her condition!

The surgery recovery is going to be rough, everything throbbing . I can say tons of pain between 9 and 10 level… Dr. Fisher says I no longer have cankles. I am excited to see the results down the road. Surgery was super long 7:30am-6pm, then in recovery for additional two hours and get up to my hospital bed to about 8:15 at night. I need to stand once today after my first meal. Nurses are great!!

Great to hear from you and sorry you are having so much pain. Wow that was a very long surgery. Keep us posted on how you are doing. I have located a used walker so going to get that soon and then hubby is getting me a raised toilet set (new of course) tomorrow. I can't wait for November 16th! Keep us posted.

So happy about the no more Cankles! Sorry about the pain, so know it will get better but definitely sucks at first. Dr F takes the time he needs to get the results you want so it doesn't surprise me that you were in there so long. Prayers are continuing for you and pain relief now.

Thank you all for the nice messages, means a lot that people out there understand why you would do this. Most of my family think I am nuts, to go through pain for smaller legs. When I see Dr Fisher I will ask him to take some different photos.
