So here I am. One year on.
I took the plunge twelve months ago and flew half way around the world to have a hair transplant.
I’d never have thought - even only 6 months earlier - that I’d ever do such a thing.
I’m grateful to those I connected with on this forum in those months prior to my decision (to follow through with the procedure), for allowing me to understand quite how easy it is ...(and how inexpensive it is, and how possible it is) to not be a bald dude disappointed with his baldness.
It’s quite strange, now that I have a full head of hair, I simply don’t think about my hair any more. I’m less conscious of how I appear.
Because I’m no longer noticing my receding hairline, and being softly, sub-consciously reminded daily that, like all living things, I am ever so slowly falling apart; that I am - in a Freudian sense - unfixably mortal.
I no longer feel that subtle, only-just-noticeable disappointment in my appearance.
My advice to anyone considering FUE is simple ...JUST DO IT!
My experience has been thoroughly enjoyable. I have no regrets whatsoever. Interestingly not too many people have noticed the change. I’ve only had a handful of people ask me what’s up.
Good luck to anyone reading this who is yet to have the procedure. Again, my advice - if you’re sitting on the fence - is to just bite the bullet and get it done. You’ll never regret it.
Happy, as always, to answer any questions.
Cheers,
Rosco.

11 months.
Things are still progressing well upstairs. I’m very happy with the results. My donor area is ever so slightly sparse - and it shows if I cut my hair too short on the back and sides, but I think I’m probably the only one who notices.
Happy to answer any questions. Hope everyone’s enjoying their FUE journey.

Seems to be coming along nicely! Huge difference from what you started out with :) Did the doctor mention anything if you might haven any donors left for a second session?
Hi Saajmon. The doctor explained that I could possibly have a second procedure. But I’m not considering that right now. Maybe one day in the future. My donor area is not noticeably thin to others, but I can tell. I think there’d be enough for a second procedure in the future. Cheers.
Sounds good! By the way, I was wondering if you were allowed to carry the shampoo bottles and lotions they give you as hand luggage or did you check in any additional baggage? I've heard that the some airports and airlines make exceptions because sometimes the bottles are over 100 ml.
I didn’t include in hand luggage. Had additional luggage (-:
I see. Well I've just booked my procedure at Maral klinik. Feels a bit scary going alone to another country for something like this. But I hope I chosed the right clinic
My experience of the Maral Clinic was first class. I am sure you have made the right decision.
Whenu going
fascinating!
looks fantastic!
Question did the surgeon harvest and implant or was it the technicians?
The technicians did the work. Not the surgeon. Though i was aware this would be the case at Maral Clinic as I had read so many reports on here before I booked the procedure.
Hey thanks for your quick reply.
I’m on the fence about taking the leap or not.
If you don’t mind I’m sure I will have more questions.
Thanks again.

10 months
Today marks 10 months since my FUE procedure in Istanbul.
A year before doing it, I wouldn’t have imagined in a million years I’d go to the extent of having a hair transplant. It’s something only Hollywood types (and [RS bleep]) did. This forum really helped me change my thinking, and it enabled me to see how easy, and how inexpensive, and how possible it is ..not to be bald. I flew from New Zealand to the other side of the world, stayed 3 nights in Istanbul, then flew home again. It cost me (flights included) a fraction of what it would cost to have the same procedure done in NZ or Australia. My recovery has followed the script to a Tee. I looked like a muppet for the first four months. Since then however it’s been thoroughly enjoyable watching my hair slowly but surely grow and thicken up.At 10 months I have an area just behind my hairline that’s slightly thinner than the rest, along with my crown. If these areas never improve from here, I could happily live with it, but I believe they too will thicken up over the next 6 months. After having the FUE procedure, I decided I would happily share what I’ve had done with anyone who asks. Interestingly, only one person (seriously, only one!) has asked if I’ve had something done. Everyone else just says I’m looking good, or looking younger.A large part of my reservations before having it done were about what others would think, and whether it was too self indulgent, and too vain.Well, the fact is everyone’s just a little too busy with their lives to worry about our own inconsequential hairline. I’m thrilled with the result already, and I expect it will continue to improve still. If anyone is considering having this procedure done, just do it! You’ll never regret it. As always, I’m happy to answer any questions.I hope everyone’s enjoying their FUE journey as much as I am.Cheers, Rosco.

Looks great, congrats!
Cheers Battle. How’s your own FUE journey going?
Trying to hold on to what I have in my crown (39 yrs old & using minoxidil and dermaroller), so I'm in the prep/research FUE stage haha. Posts like yours really help us guys out, so thanks!
You’re welcome, mate. I sat on the fence for a year. It was exactly 365 days too long. Just do it. You won’t regret it
I'll tell you what's so good about your reviews. Every month I can check in
and compare my progress with yours. When I have doubt that it is going to grow more , it is good to see that there is hope.

Hey Mountainview. Glad you’re staying positive mate. Would love to see your own review
I'm at pretty much this exact same stage!
Hey Rosco, it looks good, which Dr did you use?
Best, Guy
Hey Guy. I used Tugral Maral in Istanbul.
Awesome thanks. I'm 50 and been on the fence for years... So nice to follow your progression. I have the same thoughts you mentioned. What will friends, family and colleagues say... Arghh
Hey Beavis. Fact is, all friends, family, colleagues are way too busy with their on lives to worry about changes you make to your hairline. If you want to have hair, just do it. Simple as that.
Thank you
I had the same feeling as you, but I couldn't care less what people thought because they are not there when I felt depressed every night regarding my hair loss
awesome
Thanks Soreal. How’s your own FUE journey going?
Hi Rosco your hair looks great you gotta be happy with the outcome... awesome !!!
Hey thanks Dragon. Yep, pretty happy with progress at the 10 month mark. It’s been a fun journey. You’re looking good too mate - after round 2. I’m looking forward to your next update. Cheers.

Only paid $2k so I got what I paid for? What a [RS bleep] comment. I’m actually very pleased with the result.
Great job! Grow it longer and dye those greys up top!!!!
I've noticed the user superflytn has made [RS bleep] comments on others results as well, saying they're bad transplantats. Could be a troll.
Thanks for the reply.
I had mine done 5 months ago yesterday
I’m delighted so far, wondering if anyone else has started using Rogaine that’s following you, if there are could you let us know.
Thanks
