FUE Hair Transplant - Great Experience!
WORTH IT
I received a FUE hair transplant from Dr. Wetzel at Anderson Center for Hair at the Sandy Springs location on January 16, 2025. I first went in on December 23, 2024 for a consultation and met with Matt Longshore who is the patient coordinator for this location. I had a great experience at both appointments. Matt was friendly, helpful, and informative. We talked for a while and discussed different treatment options within their office as well as preventative hair loss measures that can be done on a regular basis. All of my questions were answered and I was even able to contact Matt to his direct line outside of the office visit with any other questions or concerns that I had. At the end of the consultation, Dr. Wetzel met with me and discussed the specific options for my hair loss. Ultimately, I needed a FUE hair transplant to get my hairline back. I also, went with the exosome treatment as well as the included PRP session the day of the FUE procedure.
After the consultation, I spoke with Matt a couple other times with questions that I had, and he was readily available and more than happy to speak with me about my questions. He provided several available days that were open for booking the procedure. He was never pushy and worked with my schedule.
On the day of the procedure, I arrived at 6:45 in the morning and was greeted by Linda. Linda was great! She was with me the entire day and assisted with much of the procedure. First thing in the morning, Linda went over documents for me to sign which included liability waivers, disclosures, and lunch options for the day. Linda was extremely helpful and made the day extremely smooth. At about 7:30, Dr. Wetzel met with me and we casually talked for a few minutes. He put me at ease and got started shortly after talking.
The process for the entire day was smooth and it went very quickly. Dr. Wetzel drew my hairline and went straight to work. I didn’t know what to expect but the whole process was painless. The only thing that I felt during the procedure was the initial shots to numb the areas before performing the procedure, which felt like a pinch, but was not unbearable. Throughout the day, everyone was extremely nice, caring, and made me feel comfortable. After the initial shots, I literally did not feel the slightest bit of pain or discomfort.
The procedure ended at about 3:30 in the afternoon. Dr. Wetzel took pictures of my head and then I was bandaged by Linda who also gave me post procedure instructions. I was out of the office by 4 o’clock. I could not have asked for a better experience. Everyone was extremely caring and helpful throughout the entire process.
I am currently 7 days post procedure and everything is going great. I am healing just as everyone said I would be at this point. The only pain I experienced post procedure after the medications wore off was a headache. I took Tylenol the night of the procedure and the next day, but that was it. I really didn’t have any pain. The headache didn’t feel like anything other than a normal headache. I experienced some mild discomforts, but not pain. I became swollen two days after the procedure in my forehead and eyes which was only alarming to see, but not painful. I also experienced itchiness at the donor sight a few days after as well which was only annoying when trying to sleep but did not seem to bother me much during the day. The last aspect of discomfort was sleeping and this was simply because you are supposed to sleep reclined for a few days to help with swelling. I tend to move around in my sleep so, sleeping on my back on an incline was difficult and the donor sight was itchy at night which kept me up at times. Overall, these were minor discomforts that only lasted for 3 to 4 days.
I can’t express how pleased I am with my experience with my FUE procedure at the Anderson Center for Hair. Everyone at the Sandy Springs office was great and I would highly recommend Dr. Wetzel and his team to anyone considering a hair transplant, or any alternative treatments such as exosome therapy or PRP. The process was painless and there are only mild discomforts during the healing process in the following days during the healing process. Obviously, I am only 7 days post-op and can’t attest to the results yet; however, I have confidence in Dr. Wetzel’s work and look forward to seeing the outcome!
