New hair here I come!!!

WORTH IT$1,500
I’m 40 years of age and starting to thin around my crown and receding. I’m having this done as I much prefer to have the option of having hair than going bald. I was quite happy to go with grace, but by chance spoke to a friend who had been to Turkey to have a transplant and trusted his opinion and started to research, I was due to go last year but backed out as really wasn’t sure to go through with it. I then spoke to my good friend and told him and he said he would join me as he has a scar on his crown which has made him bald in that area. With him coming along it gave me the courage to do it and I’ve also got my other friend to come along, I had two others involved as well but they backed out. We are due out on the 3rd December and very excited about our journey to having the hair we want.

Arrived in Istanbul on the 3rd December at 19.30, we were picked up by transfer at 20.40 and taken to the hotel Deniz which is in a free location 10 minute walk from the harbour and 10 minutes to the shops & restaurants. As I’m with my friend we had a peruse around the local sights to eat some steps in and to try and make ourselves tired as we were 3 hours ahead of the UK. We got back to he hotel at around 23.00 and then I tried to get to sleep but didn’t until 2am and was up at 6.30 to be ready for the transfer at 8am. We’ve now been picked up and on our way to the clinic, feeling nervous....

Hi Gaz I just had mine done in Turkey 8 days today, I didnt find it as painful as you seem to have with the op. Infact I,m finding it a little more sore/ uncomfortable now as now I can sleep without the aid of the neck pillow. My head is still very numb at the back and areas on the top. Once I get up though I feel fine after 10 minutes or so. It is such a relief though once you have taken the plunge and had the procedure done. Good luck mate, youll be getting hair gel for Xmas next year. lol.

Hey Rabmc, cheers for your details, it’s 16 days since the operation and I’m so happy that I’ve done it, I have no pain slight itching and none of the hair has fallen yet ? After 10 days you start to get back to your normal self, sleep properly, back to keeping active :)

Picked up from the hotel @8am prompt, arrived at the clinic @8.30am, we were met by a lovely lady sorry can’t remember her name but she took our details and bloods and asked how we want our hair to be which was marked by a felt pen. We then waited for a further 45 minutes then guided into our own room where I met my technicians 2 gents who were friendly but spoke very little English. Then the lady came in and said they will be injecting a local anaesthetic. Now be prepared this is no easy process, 12 in the back to start with which caused me pain as I got to the sixth one and I grunted and gritted my teeth and they were done. Then they start to take your follicles from your back and sides and transfer on to medical cloth. Your laid on your front and I found the position uncomfortable at times, I was put on a antibiotic drip as well. The side and back grafts took 4 hours which I found hard work and then we stopped for lunch and I struggled to stand and it took me a while to stop being dizzy and nauseas but I came around eat a bit of the lunch which was rice, lentils, salad, soup and a bread roll. I then composed myself and it was injections in the top of my head which were slightly easier as I knew what was coming. Then it was into 5 hours of transplanting the grafts into my donor area. They put holes in your head to where they will place the hair follicles. The front of my head became very sore and I asked for further painkillers to help and they got them for me. In all honesty it was more painful than I expected and I’m glad my friend Gavin is with me and he agrees it’s a painful process but no pain no gain. The technicians are very pleased with the results and have said I will have good hair from this. Back at the Hotel Dinus having an early night with painkillers supplied from the clinic. The clinic are coming to the hotel tomorrow to wash our hairs and go through the healing procedure. Great thing the transfer rep bought a neck cushion which cost 80 Turkish lira but well worth it as the next seven days I have to sleep upright.
