I have been thinking about getting hair transplant done for the past two years and spoke with surgeons in UK and India as I’ve family members residing in both these countries. I have heard of Turkey and it’s booming hair transplant industry but like many others I was skeptical of travelling to a foreign country for a medical procedure. Getting hair transplant done in UK was out of question due to extortionate costs and flights to India were 3 times their normal going rate due to the COVID-19 situation, so I ‘reluctantly’ chose Turkey as it was convenient (direct flights from UK) and affordable.
After doing research and speaking with various people, I chose Dr IIker Apaydin at GetHair clinic and I’m pleased to say that this was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. After my free consultation, I was offered various packages and I chose the most expensive one as I was only prepared to get this done once in my life and wanted to leave no stones unturned. There is a lot of information out there on FUT, DHI, FUE etc. so I won’t go in too much detail on what these are. I chose a combi method (FUE + FUT) for greater density. I was given a count of around 4200 grafts but after a marathon session of almost 11+ hours, my total grafts count was close to 4900. VERY PLEASED!
As part of my package, I got airport pick-up and drop plus 2 nights in a 4 star hotel. Everything went as planned and the co-ordinators of the entire trip, Miss Cancu and Mr Kaan were very professional, polite and too take of all the small details. Miss Cancu (based in Turkey) and Mr Kaan (based in UK) answered all my questions and made me feel at ease during my initial consultation, booking process, time in Turkey and after-care sessions. The nurses at the clinical were also very professional, caring and spoke good English. Dr. IIker Apaydin performed the incision (FUT)/extraction (FUE) as I chose the combi method and implantation were carried out by staff nurses. The entire team did their best to make the whole process as pain free as possible for me and one of the things I liked during my initial consultation, during and after the procedure was that there was no hard sell on any products. I hate people who try and hard sell me anything. There were no hidden charges and the price I was quoted was the final price I paid, not a penny more.
I’m yet to see any results as I only got the transplant done last week (19.08.20) so I will be writing another review in 12 months’ time however I would like to give Dr IIker Apaydin, his entire team including staff nurses and co-ordinators Miss Cancu and Mr Kaan a BIG THUMBS UP and FIVE STARS for the top-notch service and professionalism. Hopefully I will have positive results in a year’s time but in the meanwhile nonetheless, if you’re looking to get transplant done in Turkey then I would highly recommend Dr IIker Payadin and GetHair clinic.
