I'm about a week late for my 1 year update but here it is. All pics taken under very bright lights. I'm thrilled by the work Dr. Altan and his team did for me. It's exceeded my expectations especially for only 1,800 grafts. It just goes to show its not about how many grafts they take but how many grafts actually survive and grow. I hope this helps some of you and thanks for the support.

The before/after tells the story. Huge improvement, and jut think ow much the ‘before’ would have continued to regress without taking any action. Nice result

Thanks djames. Yeah without the finasteride and transplants I would be shaving my head (which I did do a couple times). I prefer having hair though.

Which doctor wold recommend out the two? From the doctor of your first or second hair Transplant...?

10 months post
Before 1st HT, After 1st HT and currently at 10 months post 2nd HT
So I got some major improvements from month 8 to month 10 (now at month 10). It's very exciting to see. I guess I am a slow grower. I've attached pics just before my first transplant, after the first one and currently 10 months after the 2nd one with Dr. Altan this time. I'm thrilled with the work Dr. Altan and his team at Aestepool Clinic did. They've exceeded my expectations on what 1,800 grafts could do. For those of you who are new to researching please be aware that it's not the number of grafts but how many of them actually grow that makes the biggest difference.

Are you still taking the Finasteride every other day?
Have you stopped at any point?
How about Minoxidil?
I use the liquid Minoxidil from Costco and it is making my scalp VERY itchy..!!
The foam does not get my scalp itchy, but it is 3 times the price of the liquid.

I used Minoxidil for 4-5 yrs before my 1st transplant. I hated it and it did nothing but dry my scalp and make it itchy (foam and liquid). I stopped it a month before my 1st transplant. I have been on Finasteride (3x a week) for over 2.5 yrs and I'm never gonna stop it. It's amazing.

Yeah, that Minoxidil makes my scalp soooo itchy...!! Except for the foam, but the foam is much more expensive.
I'm also using Finasteride 1mg every other day.

Very nice. Finasteride is cheap (at least the generic is) and a lot easier than putting crap in your hair.

Looks good mate. Totally satisfied now or do you think there will be a third in the future? would you recommend this clinic better than transest?

Thank you Danny. Yes I'm at 11 months today and I'm very happy with the results. Dr. Altan is much better than Transest (No comparison). I highly recommend him. My first HT continued to improve until month 15-16 so I think I've got a bit more improvement coming. My hair is much fuller now so I don't see needing a 3rd HT anytime soon. Maybe a small one in 10 yrs time. I didn't think 1800 grafts would do much but I was wrong. If you're looking for a 2nd HT you can't go wrong with Dr. Altan and Aestepool clinic.

Thanks. I have some donor left. Maybe 1,000 to 1,500 but I really don't need a 3rd one. I'll update when I reach 12 months.

I was wondering. Did you get a discounted price because of the small amount of grafts? Cause it does not seem so.

Sadly no, I think he would have charged the same for 1,000 grafts or 4,000 grafts lol. With the results I got I have no complaints.
I want to get my 2nd FUE but think I'm going back to Dr. Nader who performed the 1st one. I had a scheduled date for April 20 but had to cancel because we'll be away on vacation.
As of now, scheduled for June, they offered me May but June will be my 25th wedding anniversary. After a HT we need about 2 months before we show 'presentable' ...lol
Unlike Dr. Altan, he does not do PRP. He told me on the phone that based on studies and other things that PRP would work really well for aesthetic procedures on the face and for healing process but he believes that injecting PRP in the scalp for the transplanted hairs could cause more negative than positive. I don't remember his exact medical explanation but he told me he would do PRP if I chose to do so.
I am a big believer in PRP and can testify after doing an ablative CO2 laser on my face after which they injected PRP in the face (that procedure was done in the Dominican Republic) and I was VERY satisfied with the short healing process and recovery.
Anyhow, Dr. Altan seems to have real nice reviews, I'd just wish he was more involved in the surgery than his assistants.
