Age 38, male pattern baldness, 12-hour FUE - 10/10

After doing lots of research about hair treatment centers and learning about the extensive background of both Dr. Natalie Kash (board-certified dermatologist and hair restoration surgeon) and Dr. Rahil Roopani (hair restoration surgeon) I chose to go with Root Hair Institute located in Bellevue, Washington.  During my initial conversation over the phone, both Doctors helped create a long-term strategic plan designed specifically for the hair loss that I was dealing with.  I am 38 and my father’s side has a history of male pattern baldness and on the Norwood scale I would be considered a 5.   I was prescribed both oral and nonprescription meds which was around 6 months before my surgery.  We also discussed the differences between the different type of hair transplant surgeries - FUE vs FUT and what they recommend I go with.  Both doctors kept in touch with me periodically making sure that I was taking the medication because we wanted the best potential outcome during surgery day. 
2/6/2022:  Night before surgery:  Flew into Seattle which was an easy 20-minute cab ride to Bellevue and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn.   You have a choice of 20+ restaurants and all are walking distance and there is a nice mall right down the street.  Lots of good distractions to keep your anxiety level at a minimum, lol. 
2/7/2022:  Day of surgery:  Plan on waking up around 5:00 AM and get in a good breakfast.  The hotel is a 5 min cab ride to the clinic.  I got to the clinic at around 6:30 AM.  The doctors and staff were very friendly and welcoming and went over the plan for the day.  The FUE surgery took place over the course of 12 hours which included 4 hours of extracting the grafts, 3 hours of cutting holes (not sure if this is the right term) and 5 hours of strategically placing the grafts in the head.  The Doctors and medical team did an amazing job and were very friendly throughout the day checking on me periodically to make sure I was fine.  I spent half the day watching TV shows/movies. 
2/8/2022:  After the surgery I had a day of rest in the hotel and was provided with a sheet of instructions on what I can/can’t do over a 7-day period.  Both doctors also checked in on me and I had no pain throughout the day. It honestly felt like I didn’t even have surgery.  Overall satisfaction level 10/10
I had a fantastic experience with this clinic.  Highly recommend to anyone who is trying to decide on hair transplant surgery.  It’s not an easy decision but you 100% can’t go wrong with both Dr. Kash and Dr. Roopani. Oh and if you ever meet Dr. Kash in person make sure you tell her hook’em horns she is a big fan :)
