4,400 Grafts FUE Canadian in Turkey 28 yrs old - Dr. Maral Istanbul: 100 Worth It!

WORTH IT$3,300
I have been losing my hair on my widows peak hairline for 4-5 years and my crown has been thinning as well. I did this transplant for no other reason than for my personal mental health. I have had a depressive attitude and mindset like many guys who lose their hair in their early 20’s. I lost my confidence and usually wore some sort of hat or applied a ton of hair fibres before heading out. Now my hair is noticeably thin with these photos and how I styled it but to many it didn’t look like a major problem. However, when you start obsessing over it every day, it does become a major problem. I went to Dr. Maral’s clinic in Istanbul and I have nothing but great reviews so far. I’m 11 days post surgery and the progression at the beginning happens rapidly. Before, and during the surgery all my questions were addressed and the process itself lasted 7.5 hours with a 30 min lunch break. Here are some shots of before and after and 9 days after the surgery ... my crown looked a lot worse than this photo shows just because I had hair covering it

Were you worried things would get lost in translation since you dont speak turkish(I am assuming)? How many grafts do you have left since you used 4,400 of them already? What meds are you on right now?

Dr. Maral and his staff speak perfect English for the exception of a few technicians. So there was a good discussion of what I was looking for prior and 5,000 grafts was what I wanted but they were cautious because I’m younger in case I need to do another one in the future. I think I can do another 4,000 or more I’m not too sure. 3 days of meds: an antibiotic, a cortisol steroid for inflammation, and pain killers if needed. Then the shampoo until it’s gone

Good for you. If you look good, you feel good and in turn treat people better because of the confidence. I hope it turns out really well for you.

thanks I appreciate it! and the cost of the flight to Turkey was separate but my girlfriend and I made a vacation out of it prior to the surgery

Did you apply for a Turkish Visa beforehand. Thinking of flying from Calgary next month. As someone that crosses into the us quite frequently the American customs officers have told me that I'll be asking for alot of problems and questioning if my Canadian passport has a Turkish stamp in it. Have you crossed into the states since returning perhaps to Blaine WA. Thanks

Yes it takes about 5-10 minutes to do online then just screenshot it to show customs in Turkey. No, no issues yet and I travel quite heavily in and out of the states and you simply just explain the procedure. I have driven in and out of Canada at Niagara and Detroit areas with no issues

Excited about new hair! 2 weeks post

As you can see in my first photos that I’ve posted they are a bit out of order. However, I took these shots in public while grocery shopping to show people that I’m more confident now with this red, dotted head than I was before with thin, receding hair. The most recent shot is this one here. I have no shame walking around with my soon to be new head of hair

you will get great results .
April 22, 2018
i will be honest i think you will have a good result because your crown was ok for the most part and you had alot of hair in the front already with good thick hairs. I was way confident after my surgery too. the ones on the front usually grow in thick and fast and the ones further back take time. even if you are not 100% satisfied you can do another fue in the future but i think you will be happy. instead of being bald you have hair
April 23, 2018
thank you! I’m glad to hear you were confident too. Great to know... the back of my head definitely doesn’t look as good. For sure that’s exactly what I was thinking. I’ll probably do another one and exactly this changed my life, not letting bald happen :)

2 month update - FUE Turkey Dr. Maral

ChaserT
Hi everyone. It’s been two months and one week since I had my FUE Hair transplant. I noticed the shock loss of the hair around the 1.5 month mark where the new hair fell out and my hair felt quite thin again which is the part of the process where it feel as if nothing got done! However, in the last 3 weeks I’ve noticed the baby hairs starting to grow but with my long existing hair and the new hairs it still looks thin but that was expected. The one thing that is still interesting is that my hair is all different lengths all over: where they took the grafts, where my existing hair was, where they didn’t take the donors from and my new hair growing in and it looks a bit funny for now. I wear a hat typically when I go out since about 1 month in to now I wear my hat. Just because I rather not explain unless I see someone in my similar shoes of losing my hair. Here are some photos the hairline looks way better even with the small amount of new growth and the top looks not too bad considering it’s just passing the shock loss stage. Overall, very happy and looking forward to month 4 when you can see the new growth really come in !
