38, Lack of hair ! 3000 grafts.
WORTH IT$2,230
I wanted to write a quick review just to thank firstly Dr Maral, and all his staff at the clinic. Secondly the members of this forum, that helped me with their reviews to make an informed decision.
So, I landed in Istanbul the 23rd Feb. I had exchanged a few e-mails with the clinic and was told i was stage 3a, and quoted the set fee of 2100eur. All e-mails pre and post op have been answered very quickly with the info needed. AMAZING !
5 minutes after landing, received a call from the driver, letting me know exactly where he was waiting. We then drove to the hotel, which really was quite nice. Clean and better than I expected.
After a good sleep was picked up at 9 the next morning, and taken to clinic. Had a short meeting with Dr Maral, he is a great guy. Very nice and put me very quickly at ease about the surgery.
The surgery lasted around 6 hours. The only part that caused any real pain were the few initial anaesthetic injections. After this mild discomfort the rest went smoothly and painlessly ! The 2/3 technicians that work on you are INCREDIBLE. Friendly, efficient, fast, kind and reassuring. They have been performing these procedures for years, and it is clear they are 100% at ease and confident in what they are doing.
First nights sleep was a little difficult, but every subsequent night becomes easier. My donor area became quite uncomfortable around the fifth day, but paracetamol helps a lot. Now I'm up to day eight and a LOT of scabs are beginning to fall off.
Looking forward to being three/four months down the line, and seeing new hairs growing rather than hairs falling as they have for the past 5 years !!
Thanks again to EVERYONE related to the Maral Klinic. Was a great experience from start to finish.

Hey AussieBee.....yep the improvement is AMAZING. It actually feels to the touch that my whole head is at a perfect thickness just shaved down to a grade 1 !!!! I haven't felt my head like that since I was probably 25 ( 13 years ago) !!!
A bit pink the recipient, but to be expected after only 9 days. I read Aloe vera gel helps ? anyone know/tried?
Yep I'm not looking forward to the hairfall !!!! and hoping im part of the small percentage that keeps most of it !!

Tommy, it is nice to see you here!
We met and talked at the klinic and hotel, as we had FUE at same morning :-)
I see your recovery is going very good!
Do you still feel pain and pricks in donor area?
I had no swelling at all.
I stopped with all medicament 3 days after operation, and after that from TUE until now I have painful donor area with feeling of itching, pricks and numbness at same time.
Also I feel slight numbness in my left ear.
It is really hard to sleep with such discomfort. Huh!
Today, at day 9, I feel better.
From your pictures, a lot of scabs are gone and it seems nice!
But in my case, there are still a lot of them in recipient area.
They keep together with hair like a moss, I think I need to apply more pressure during washing, but I'm afraid to push or swing grafts not to dislodge them.
Maybe is the reason for that I had heavier operation with 4200 grafts on larger surface, but how knows :-)

Hey Marton.....Good to hear from you.
Yeah quite a lot of pain in donor area. I feel better there today too. 1000mg of paracetamol helped me a lot.
I never really applied much pressure. but was leaving the moisturiser for around 40 mins before showering. Then in 2 days they fell off like crazy !!! ALL of them.
Sure over the next few days they will start coming off. It definately feels better when theyve gone !!!
Have a good day man !!

Thanks man! I will think about the suggestion with paracetamol, as I have to see how I'm gonna feel from tomorrow.
I also apply moisturiser losion for 40-50min before showering with shampoo, but scabs are still holding there.
Today during washing, I noticed some hairs attached with skin are fallen out, the same as on below photo - I hope it is normal:

yeah its normal !!!
Its the first scabs coming off , soon they will be falling FAST !!
I found that maybe half the scabs had hair stuck in them. But even after the scabs have gone theres quite a bit of hair left !! ;)
Take the Paracetamol.....it really help the pain at the back for 4-5 hours, then take some more
You been cycling yet? I want to exercise but i think i;ll wait til 2 whole weeks.....

Then it seems I don't need to worry about fallen grafts.
Haha, no cycling yet, it is too early for such things. I think I will wait for one month from operation date to be 100% sure to ride a bike.
In meantime while I am on recovery, I will create some good routes :-)

Also would you be able to share how functional were you in those 5 days following surgery? Were you able to conduct basic tasks with ease or were you simply resting for the most part?
I was fully functional. Going for meals, working as normal. Biggest problems are trying not to bang or rub the recipient area for ten days, as you can damage the follicles, and also no strong exercise for 3 weeks.
After 3 weeks i run and cycle regularly
The other problems for the first 10 days is the look !!!!! Its not pretty and I found that trying to wear a hat was not comfy, I was nervous to rub the grafts.
After the scabs fall at around 10 days, you're pretty much back to normal
Good luck
Maral klinik is super, just whatsapp him some photos and book up !!!
