3 Weeks Post Op, Left Drain is Still In. Very Irritated Kinda Worried

I had top surgery 3 weeks ago and due to a hematoma my left drain is still in. The right side has been perfect this whole time. Over the past few days tho, the drain site has become very irritated and I'm worried it might be infected. I don't think it is but I can't help but worry.

I also drain about 100 ccs yesterday in a few hours so today everything is feeling much better. Could the fluid build up be cause the drain site to be more sore? Could I ask my doctor to remove the drain and just aspirate the hematoma instead?
