Still so happy
WORTH IT
I'm now just over 4 months post op, I had a minor complication on my right side where one of my drains got wound up some. It left me with a little fluid retention, it hasn't caused issues and with everything going on I haven't been able to see my doctor and have it drained (if it needs to be). I also still have some swelling on my left side under my scar.

Having this procedure may have saved my life, it greatly improved for sure. I had been waiting to have top surgery for years, and it still almost doesn't feel real. I keep thinking it's a dream. I saw DOC after having consults with several other doctors and felt so much more comfortable with him than the others. His bedside manner can sometimes be a little off putting to some people, but he genuinely cares about the trans community and is a great surgeon. He's very to the point which can be read as cold by some people, but I don't think he means it that way. His results are amazing, and his team is wonderful. I had both top surgery and hysterectomy together, with Dr. Stephen Martin as the OBGYN. They work together through the Johns Hopkins Center for Transgender Health. After surgery I stayed overnight at Johns Hopkins Hospital, all the nurses were nice and affirming. No one had issues calling me by my preferred name despite my legal name being different in the system. I'm so happy with my results at 3 weeks post op, and will try to continue updating as time goes on.
