157lbs!!????
WORTH IT$500
You read it right. I GAINED WEIGHT! Soooo how did I get here? Let's see, I hit a major stall with my health. Long story short I ended up in ER due to dangerous heart rhythms (not surgery related, I have a heart condition). I had to immediately stop all workouts until we could do a study and find out what was going on so I had to wear a heart monitor for a month and no exercise for 2 months.
This was soooo depressing for me because all I wanted to do was run! Now let me tell u there were some BAD days! Apparently I'm a bored eater. With nothing to do I ate and slept. Horrible formula. Anyway I refocused and changed up my snacks but not before gaining those few pounds in those 2-3 months.
As of today I am FINALLY cleared to work out! I am am beyond thrilled but in this process I learned so much about myself and what my triggers are. When I stop planning I completely fall off the wagon. Also, there's no way for me to keep this off other than to keep my body moving and drink tons of water.
Anyway I'm back on track people!! I'll keep u posted! This is not an easy fix folks!

151 and counting...
Alright u guys I am now down to 151. Feeling great. It's definitely a process. I eat whatever I want but I'm very conscious about it. Still running maybe 3 times a week. I feel very blah if I don't and running has actually become a treat to myself. I do what I can handle. Now on to the things I don't like....my arms. Whew they're pretty jiggly so I can tell I have a lot of work to do. I hate push ups or lifting weights so this should be interesting. I'm hoping to be 140 by August. We shall see. I added another comparison pic.

Your posts are amazing. Thank you for being open. I can really relate to needing an actual person to talk too. I know one person and she told me by a mistake, so talking to her is a no no.
I'm seriously considering this surgery due to medical issues. I have chronic migraines, fibromyalgia (with all of the symptoms), asthma, acid reflux, and vertigo. My whole body hurts on a regular basis. I take a lot of medication. I'm so glad that your heart condition is doing better. I plan to make health, fitness (when I can), and better choices my overall goal to keep my mind off of the weight loss. I want to create a healthy lifestyle. Right now, I don't eat much due to lack of appetite and nausea, so my body is storing fat. The medication side effects is weight gain for most of them. I really hope this helps me. What were the complication warnings? That's what I'm nervous about. Like you, my BMI is low compared to most. It's 37. Any information would be great! Thanks again!!!!
You'll probably reach that 140 goal before August. YOU GOT THIS! Try to due weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly weigh ins. Daily drove me nuts. LOL

Morning, if you are considering the gastric sleeve, keep in mind and don't be fooled...the first 6 to 8 months you lose automatically, and if your like me you have to work for all the rest by being physical. If I could do it over again, I would have the gastric by-pass instead. I know with Fibro myalgia you are in daily pain and might not be able to work out. Think about it carefully and ask your surgeon to make the best decision. I'm still walking 4.5 miles per day x 3 times per week, lifting weights, and dancing. Honey, it ain't easy, but to eat any carbs I have to keep keeping on. Pray about your decision!

I will add one more thing ...it is a true blessing to walk, run, dance, lift weights, be off of medications... that is the true gift! I feel privileged and blessed, but I work for it daily.

Alrighty you guys I am now down to 153. The scale moved when I started drinking more water. I really need to tone now since everything is jiggly. Not too bad though. Posted a pic.

Wow your posts are so informative! Thank you so much for being so transparent. I am looking to have surgery soon and your experience has helped me so much (although I know we are all different). Again, thank you!

No problem! Good luck with your surgery. You will do well. It's definitely a process.

You look amazing! Great job! You should be proud of yourself. Definitely not the easy way out but you I think you have the right attitude and that's why you're succeeding!
I'm looking forward to getting sleeved in the next few months. I am 5'3", 200 lbs, with diabetes and high blood pressure. Also, terrible snoring. I'm hoping to at least get off of the insulin after surgery. Will continue to check out your updates!

Wow you look really great. Thank you for all your posts, I'm 5'3" and 200. My BMI is 35. I qualify for a VSG only because I have diabetes and high blood pressure. Not sure about sleep apnea but my snoring has gotten worse and worse. Doc suggested meal time insulin for me but I don't wanna do it. My insulin right now is at about 24 units nightly, 2500 mg metformin daily, and 2.5 mg glybirude. Tired of taking meds, taking shots and poking my fingers. I really want this to end and be medicine free! Is it worth losing 50-60 pounds? Or should I continue to try harder? I beat myself up for not trying harder. Why haven't I been able to do it on my own? Anyway I have my surgeon consult on Monday 4/24. Will see what they say!

Hi there, diabetes is little more tougher to manage. My high blood pressure resolved itself pretty quickly but I ended up back on metformin 500mg. So at this point it's a wait and see how my body is accepting these changes. For me the 50lbs were worth it. I just felt sick and didn't realize how ill I really was until I shed those pounds. It does take a tremendous amount of focus. No different than taking the normal route without surgery intervention however the immediate head start was exactly what I needed in order to take control of my health back. I tried for years and couldn't seem to drop what I needed. Be picky about your surgeon because it makes all the difference.
