35 Yo in Desperate Need of a Mommy Makeover - Frisco, TX

I recently had an extensive "mommy makeover" performed by Dr. Robert Najera. My makeover included a bilateral breast augmentation with a lift. At which time, I also had my areolas reduced. My mommy makeover also consisted of liposuction of my abdomen, flanks and back and a full abdominoplasty. The process from start to present has been seamless. Dr. Najera's patient coordinator, Amber, plays a vital role in everything from scheduling to post op follow up. As a new patient living two and a half hours away, my initial interaction was handled via email with photos of my "problem areas". I wasn't quite sure I wanted to proceed with surgery, so I felt emails were pretty noncommittal. After hearing back from Amber with Dr. Najera's feedback and doing endless research on Dr. Najera, his previous work, his experience, and education, I made the decision to allow him to do my surgery. I scheduled my pre op three weeks before my surgery and was able to sit down with Dr. Najera to discuss my photos, my body, my questions and my expectations- at great length, I might add. I was absolutely impressed with Dr. Najera from the moment he entered the room. He sat down with me and answered numerous questions, voiced his recommendations, and used TouchMD to show me on my photos where I could expect my scars. My entire experience was handled professionally and surprisingly modest. I wasn't comfortable with my body in its condition and being nude, and Dr. Najera was sensitive to that. He observed what he needed to, took measurements and took note regarding my skin's laxity and allowed me to get dressed before continuing our consultation. I was greatly impressed by the doctor's willingness to sit and listen and spend time to address my concerns. He wasn't in any rush and I really appreciated his time and focus. My consultation wrapped up with a meeting with Amber to discuss my surgery and the days leading up to it. At that time Amber also went over and gave me copies of my pre/post op information. Her explanation was detailed and she offered me every opportunity for questions. I walked into the waiting room the day of my consultation anxious and completely uncomfortable but as I left, I had a real sense of confidence after having discussed EVERYTHING. The few weeks went by and occasionally I thought up a question for Amber and emailed her. The woman's communication is remarkable!! Like no other doctor's office I've ever encountered, Amber always responded in a timely manner. The morning of my surgery I felt so prepared. I arrived at the hospital, and thanks to Amber, I knew right where to go and what to expect. Shortly after getting situated in my pre op room, Dr. Najera arrived and was bright and cheerful and just as pleasant as ever. As unorthodox as it may seem, my 5 year old son accompanied my husband and I the morning of surgery. Dr. Najera was very considerate of his presence and made every effort to shield him while he made his markings. When he was finished and his markings were complete, he assisted me back to bed, made sure I was comfortable and assured me and my family that I was in good hands and would be well taken care of. The anesthesia provider entered the room as Dr. Najera left and that's all I remember until waking up in the recovery room. My surgery was long, as I knew it would be because I was well informed. Dr. Najera insisted I stay overnight for observation, during my consultation. So when I left recovery they wheeled me to my room. The first night was about what I expected it to be. The next morning (Saturday) I was surprised when Dr. Najera arrived, bright and early (9 am) to check on me. He observed his work, my drains, my binders, and made sure my pain was under control. Wow!! The man is truly amazing. I didn't actually see his work in its entirety until the following day-Sunday- when I took my first shower and it all looked amazing and met my very high expectations. My breasts were so perky and symmetrical. My abdomen was so beautifully contoured, even with the swelling!! My incision from my abdominoplasty was low and even and I couldn't be more pleased. Amber called me first thing Monday morning to check on me and was so sweet with her well wishes. My first follow up appointment was Wednesday (6/29) with Kellie Knutson PA. She was very gentle, considerate of my discomfort, yet thorough. She looked me over, checked my drains and my incisions and asked me a few questions before sending me on my way back home to rest. Friday, July 1st, I called and returned to the office because my drains were draining very minimally and I was thrilled to get them removed. Kellie removed them with very little discomfort and I was quickly headed back home. My instructions have all been clear and easy to follow. My pain has been easily controlled and sleep hasn't been an issue with the medications I was prescribed. My two week post op follow up was 7/7 with Dr. Najera and I was excited to see him and show him his work and how beautiful everything looked. He was equally pleased and reiterated the importance of sticking to the post op instructions. Overall my experience has been phenomenal. I couldn't have asked for a better surgical experience. I'm only three weeks post op but I would do it again in a heartbeat.
