Finasteride Destroyed my Skin

I asked my dermatologist for a 1mg prescription of Finasteride for hair loss after reading about it online. The doctor was friendly and offered me a 5mg prescription that I could cut up into fourths to save money. I stopped taking it after a month due to experiencing excessively oily skin and dry hair. After I stopped taking it my hormones got out of whack and cystic acne ended up destroying my skin.

I've been taking it for several years and had none of the symptoms you described.
You researched it online and you asked for the prescription that he gave you.... yet you are shifting the blame to your physician for the side effects you experienced?
I have taken propecia for over a decade with no such side effects, or any for that matter. Did you get a full medical workup to see if you have some other underlying medical condition? Usually, when you stop a drug the effects end up wearing off. I couldn't find any listing of what you experienced with the loss of facial volume and acne as a known side effect.
My son has taken it for years without the problems you mentioned. It totally reversed his hair loss. I’m pretty sure it lowered or interferes in some way with testosterone, so when you stopped maybe you had a surge in testosterone or a by product of it. I do know once when I actually took testosterone( I’m female) I experienced acne which I had never had. It has been a miracle for my sons hair.
I have experienced hair loss as a female and have tried almost everything. I am now using a product from Harklinikken. It’s too soon to judge my results but a friends son has had great success
Wishing that each day brings your renewed strength
