One year update
Had surgery March 16, 2017. July 10, 2017 I went to the doctor because I was feeling really sick. I was immediately admitted to the hospital and prepped for emergency surgery. I had an abscess around my belly button that was very large and making me very ill. After surgery, I went through many weeks of daily dressing changes, which consisted of having gauze packed down into a hole in my belly. If I had caught the abscess earlier, it wouldn’t have been so bad. I had some tenderness at my belly button, but I was in the final moving process and thought I had jut over done things. My advice - any pain or anything that’s a little off, go see your doctor. Don’t brush it off like I did.
My belly button now has another scar from the emergency surgery, but I don’t care. I’m never going to be a bikini model anyway.
All in all, I’m happy I had the surgery. My figure’s not perfect, but I’m a lot more confident and able to wear clothes I never would have before.

I had my first consultation with Dr. Knoetgen of Beautologie Surgery Center a few days ago, and liked him quite a bit. The staff at Beautologie is pretty amazing. I had a few phone calls before the consultation and a lot of questions. They've been very helpful and never got put out by me asking so many questions. I hate when you ask someone a question on the phone and the only answer you get is "we'll go over that at your appointment." Instead, they answered my questions the best they could, found the information for me, and then said "you'll talk more with so-and-so at your appointment and she'll have more information, too." I was so pleased with the service, the before and after pictures of other patients, and other aspects of the doctor and center that I decided to cancel my scheduled consultation with another doctor, paid a down payment, and scheduled a surgery date.
