ORIGINAL POST

I got my implants at the age of 18..Young and self...

WORTH IT$1,200
I got my implants at the age of 18..Young and self absorbed I loved them.

Ten years later, I stated feeling achiness in my both my boobs. It was comparable to how your chest feels as your boobs grow from being pregnant.
I knew it was time to get them out. I really prayed about what I should do... You could say my identity was in my flesh for 10 years, so could I trust having confidence post surgery?

I was given such affirmation through prayer and support of my husband. After having a kid, you realize your body is able to do amazing things. I started working out more, and felt uncomfortable about my implants moving around while lifting weights and doing push ups.
I really started having an appreciation for my healthier self, and realized I didn't need a fake chest to feel good about myself anymore. You have other beautiful attributes besides a chest.

We are also examples to our children. I did not want to show my child that mommy needs to be beautiful an happy by getting new boobs, and going through surgery every 10-12 years.

The pictures on this site helped me understand what to expect post surgery. It has been four days since my explant and I feel dizzy and lightheaded when I do too much, or wait too long to eat. Other than that, I feel great.
I was not given drains, so one boobs is pretty swollen and full of fluid compared to my other one. I read that you should have an antifungal with your antibiotic when you get your implants removed, if you do not have drains. So I have been taking Lavender, Lemon, an Ongaurd by DoTerra in a veggie cap along with my antibiotic.

I don't have any expectations with my chest. I did notice on this site through other photos after 2 weeks post surgery your chest seems to puff back up.
I'm just thankful to not have any health issues I have read about on here.

I just wanted to encourage anyone wanting to get theirs out.

I am going to have mine out too in few months. Did you have yours out under local or general? How was the procedure and recovery?

The procedure was really quick and straight forward.
My price was in terms of where I wanted my procedure done. Through my old incision (through the bottom of both my nipples) or under my boob and have a new scar. I took the in house route through my old incision. If I went local it was cheaper($700 vs $1200) but then I would have a scar 2.5 inches under my tiny boobs!
It lasted 45 minutes!
I was sleepy the first two days. Really faint and dizzy if I didn't drink enough water or ate quickly enough. I only took 2 doses of pain meds and stopped because it made me nauseous and made me sleep bad. I'd say in 4 days, your going to feel much more like yourself. Good luck!!

Four days post explant

I feel great! I had some major swelling on my right boob but that has diminished quite a bit since taking my Doterra oils. I'll update another photo when the girls fluff back up.

Hello.
You are using compression bra?

You ever searched your doctor about this swelling?
I may be wrong, but can be seroma (fuid), so I think relevant you seek your doctor to prevent infection.
Keep informed us about his recovery.
Good luck. God bless you.

I used a compression wrap the first two days, but the swelling has gotten much better.

I explanted in October 2014 after 12 years of implants. Within 3 - 4 months I looked better than pre-implant. Took a little while to "fluff", but it happened. :) I am small and didn't have much breast tissue to begin with so I wasn't counting on it. I am pleasantly surprised. I use the oils on my chest too. Lavender, cypress, wild orange, and frankincense with sunflower oil. The sunflower oil has a good amount of vitamin E.

That is encouraging to hear! I went bra shopping today which was really discouraging.;-/
I have been using vitamin E oil and lavender. Your mix sounds great! How long did you use oils for post surgery?

did you have capsules removed? doctors who weigh in at Real Self said that not having it done may result in seromas. My ps said he wasn;t going to remove them:/

It was 10 years ago, but somewhere in the 300cc range.
I'm confused about capsules being removed?

Me too. An hour ago one doc posted an answer and said there are many ways to skin a cat and his experience shows thin ones neednt removal as they get absorbed and pose no threat to health. I want to believe it. Capsule removal gives more pain, is more costly, and extends recovery time!
