BR for "THE GIRLS" ! - Frederick, MD

I can pretty much relate to everything you all have said. My size, well I am in denial as to my true size, but I can say that a 36DD is over flowing, I have always been to embarrassed to go and get measured the right way. If I had to guess....36DDD or even a 38 DD. My upper back is always bothering, shoulders, and even creases in my shoulders from too much weight. I have never seemed to "stand up straight" because the girls are so heavy and I feel when I do "they" walk in the room before me !
My surgery in July 30th and I am nervous as all get out. Reading these reviews does help and I enjoy the support from everyone. The only people that know about my BR are my kids, husband and sister in law, I have not told any of my family members, I just don't think they will understand.
I would like some advise if anyone can advise : I do NOT tolerate any type of narcotics, has anyone else had this issue and what were you given for pain?
I plan to add photos soon and will update my review as I get closer to the "BIG DAY".

Congratulations! We'll be almost surgery twins...My surgery will be August 4th! I was wearing a 34F, but recently was fitted in a 34H bra. Ugh. I think I'm between G and H though, bc the underwire on the H comes all the way out to the side of my rib cage, but it definitely encompasses all of the girls! I too have only told limited people other than my boyfriend (mom, sister, BFF and 4 close friends). Everyone had been super supportive though, and they haven't questioned my decision, bc they all know the problems with pain and injuries I've had, and the years of adjustments, acupuncture, massage and PT to deal with it. I'm sorry I have no advice on narcotics or alternatives to them. I don't tolerate Norco well (gives me bad headaches), and that seems to be the post-op drug of choice nowadays. I'll have to mention this to my PS, I've done ok with Tylenol-3 and Darvocet in the past, but Darvocet was banned by the FDA in 2010. :-P bring this issue up to your surgeon, they should be able to provide alternatives. My BF was taking tramadol when he was having reactions to Norco, but I'm not sure what class of drug that is though. Good luck!

Gosh, it does sound like you have support too, which is a good thing. I am gonna talk to my PS about options for pain. I cannot take any of the one's you mentioned (T-3,Darvocet or tramadol) I tell ya, my stomach is so sensitive. I wish you all the best too and hope to hear back how you are doing. I am really super duper nervous. I am trying to shed 10lbs before this BR and man it's tough.

I just had my apt w/ my GP who has cleared me for surgery, Wed is my pre-op w/ my PS. I really need guidance on this next question. What size do I want to be? O my gosh, I don't know this is all I have ever know, how do I decide? Can someone please advise what I should tell my PS. I know for insurance reasons he has to take a certain amt however I want to make sure it's right.
I am getting VERY nervous and cannot stop thinkn' of this, I have 17 days to wait. How bad is the pain? How long does it last? What else can I expect?
Thanks in advance.

Just checking in - I have my pre-op on Friday (7/17), and my PS wants me to get a mammogram (last one was done in April 2014). The nerves haven't gotten to me yet,

Argh, hit post accidentally! My nerves are ok so far at 22 days away, which is odd bc I have anxiety and panic disorder! This weekend I bought a lap desk for my laptop - I'm taking a week off, but I work from home, so I expect to spend some of my days in bed once I get back online the next week. Also got one of those backrest pillows with arms, so I can sleep reclined on it. I've contacted a massage therapist my friend works with, he specializes in manual lymph drainage therapy, which has been found to help a lot with healing after plastic surgery. I plan to have the first session the day before, the next 5 days after, and a few more after that. The therapist suggested I get arnica Montana supplements from whole foods (for healing), and he said he'd have a client of his that recently had a BR contact me so we can talk about the experience. so much to take care of!

I hope you figure out the size you want to be. It really is a personal preference, do you like a little more curviness, or more athletic? I told my PS I want to be on the smaller side, i.e. C cup, something I can easily run and do yoga with. "Sport boobs", if you will, so I still have a chest, but not one that overwhelms me at 5'2". He said if he sees he's getting to a C/D cup range, he'll err on the side of C rather than leave me a D. He also said to remind him the day of surgery, as he's marking me up. The rest of my body is pretty straight, I don't have an hourglass figure with wide hips. The curviest part on my has always been my breasts, and I just look top heavy.

Thank you so much for writing. I did tell my PS I would like to go with a C cup, like the idea of reminding him the day of surgery. Also, thanks for the tip on the vitamin from whole foods I will look at my store. I have not slept in weeks and am very nervous. We leave for vacation Friday I hope I can relax. I too just bought one of those pillows with the "arms" today. When is your br?

It's on 8/4, so not that far away! I actually just started my review here last night, to document everything, for myself and anyone starting to go through it too!

Bromelain (enzyme in pineapple) is also supposed to be helpful for healing, so I'll get some pills and fresh pineapple before surgery. Vitamin C is also helpful for aiding skin in healing! Enjoy your vacation!

I am on vacation and cannot get the surgery out of my mind. I am on the beach with my cover up on knowing I either don't fit in my bathing suit or it's so flippn big I look ridiculous. I have so much to do when I get home to prepare for Thursday.
