After my initial consultation, my information (measurement and pictures) were submitted to my insurance company. I received my approval for surgery fairly quickly. I am 5' 5" and weight about 185 lbs - medium to large build. I have had large breast all of my life but never this big. I was always around a D cup except for pregnancies. After the last pregnancy, they just didn't go down much. I have been pretty stable with my weight since having my last child almost 6 years ago so I figured that I will probably remain around this weight forever (maybe I will lost a little more). I am pretty active, doing around an hour of cardio everyday. I walk a lot but running has been very painful so I am hoping to start up again after I heal from surgery and who knows, maybe I will lose some weight.

I am hoping to be in the range of a 36 C after my surgery and swelling go down so if I do lose weight, I will still be at least a B cup. I have major indentations in my shoulders and my wearing a bra drives me crazy because of the weight. I have tried numerous styles of bras and just no luck finding something I can be comfortable in all day.

My surgery is scheduled for next week so I am super excited but very nervous at the same time. I will post pictures soon.

I had mine reduced from 34DD going on E. Like you I suffered terrible pain with them....digging in bra straps, always huge bras, never looking good in clothes.
You will feel wonderful afterwards....the first time you put on a smaller bra without having to squish all that loathesome flesh into it.

The backache goes almost immediately.
For me there was no pain whatsoever. Only pain was when drains removed....but it is more like a weird feeling than actual pain.
I wish you eell and will be following your story.

Wish you WELL!

Forgot to put....reduced to a 34B. They do grow a bit sometimes, but only a cup size.

Thank you so much. I usually tolerate pain well. I have had two c-sections and a hysterectomy. I did well with the pain but the pictures give me the eww feeling. I am mostly worried about the size and symmetry of it all. Right now one breast is about a cup size or so larger than the other so I am hoping for a better overall appearance.

Hello roni. I'm a 48dd or 48ddd. I have to get down to 200 lbs before they will do my surgery. My PS is taking measurements and pictures on the 12 of october. I'm hoping I can get approved from my insurance. My regular physician and nurse practioner of my PS said I have a good chance. I'm praying I can lose the weight and be approved for the reduction. I hope all goes well with your surgery and recovery. God Bless

You can do it. Walk lots and eat healthy. I wanted to lose more weight because the girls will usually shrink some with weight loss but I have been around this weight (+- 10 lbs) since my littliest one was born almost 6 years ago. I exercise great and eat pretty well but I do snack a little. I think I am at an acceptable weight and size at about a size 12/14 pants.

I have been trying, but not losing any weight. I'm in a size 16/18 pants size. I don't know what to do. I have to lose the weight before they will do my operation. What should I do? God Bless

So your insurance only required info from the plastic surgeon in order to be approved? What insurance do you have?

I received a comsult from my PCM and I think the only thing submitted was from the surgeons office. I have US Family Health Plan through Tricare Prime. They required 490cc removal in order to be approved. They never came back for additional documentation. Best of luck.

So you chose your own surgeon? How did you decide to use him? Please

They looked great just like they were

Thanks but they were heavy and caused a lot of pain. They actually didn't seem so big when I took the pics but trust me, they were more than enough. So glad I had it done.

Day of treatment

Hospital - Frederick Memorial Hospital

I had the surgery performed at the hospital and the staff was absolutely awesome from nurses to the surgeon. My sister stayed with me until I went to the OR and she was slightly cold so they gave her a warm blanket and sat her next to my gown heater tube and turned it on so the air would warm her. I wasn't cold and wasn't using it otherwise she would have been SOL haha. I teased her and asked if she were the patient.

Pre-op was great. Operation was smooth, I suppose since it didn't take the full amount of time. Pain is very manageable at the point and I am starting to have the druggy-like sensation from being out finally wear off.

I will post my review of the day after tomorrow. Really dreading it as it seems to be the worst day of all.
