Skin is improving with Aquaphor

$400
I did some research and started to use Aquaphor because a doctor who commented on my post asked if I used it post-laser - I did not. It was never recommended to me. I also didn't use it after the first session of fraxel, so I never even thought of using something like that.

So I did some research and read that it is safe for acne prone skin and won't clog pores. I started to use it 2 days ago, and I immediately felt relief in my skin. I guess what was happening was my skin was super dry and irritated and it was having adverse effects.

My pores are larger than before and it looks like I have much more of them, which I am pretty bummed out about, but I am relieved that the burning, dryness, itching, redness and break outs have all stopped. I am hoping that now that my skin is much more calm, I can start using alpha hydroxy products again to help accelerate with the skin turnaround.

I still would highly recommend staying away from fraxel. I am traumatized from this experience and I still can't believe that my skin is worse than ever and now I'm having to deal it. Wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same thing.

Not Worth is

The first time, the doctor used a low setting and my skin looked great afterwards. I also had two sculptra injections done around the same time (by another doctor) so I was looking great. Fast forward five months later, I went in for my second session of fraxel and the doctor used a low setting, but for some reason then turned it high and went over my skin multiple times again. It’s been a month now and my acne scars look worse and my pores look larger than ever! I have these tiny grid marks, which look like developed pores (never has this before) all over my face now. It also looks like I have loss of elasticity and loss of collagen. Don’t get it. Or do your research. Don’t ever let your doctor use a higher setting. Ever.

I’m so sorry that happened to you. You still have beautiful volume in your face, but the open pores sucks. I’ve had the same experience with “baby fraxel”, aka clear and brilliant laser. You are still stunning, just be gentle with your skin and give it time to heal. Use the most gentle products like cerave and try to help heal your skin’s moisture barrier (which has been temporarily hurt by the second fraxel). Good luck ❤️
My face did this too but with micro needling which is very weird... gave me multiple little bumps all over my face and rough skin
Check out the post on here titled, I cured my orange peel skin or something like that. I too had this reaction from an IPL, but after about 2 years, babying my skin with emu oil and no chemicals (I DID tan, which honestly helped me), I'm now also almost 100% healed. I can still see some pores if I look really close, but nothing like when it was damaged.
