Morpheus8 and fraxel combined for jawline, cheeks and eyelids

By day 6 (see picture), I could still see the brown flakes on my face, but was able to go out to breakfast with makeup on. Day 7 looks much, much better — (sorry forgot to take photo) most of the flaking came completely off. The one caveat is my neck. It remained irritated and itchy for nearly two weeks, and the flaking was slower to come off. The sunburn feeling stayed much longer on my neck than on my face. Couldn’t wait for that to be gone!

Day 14: the flakes are gone, but I still have the brown spots showing and some redness. They said it would take 28 days for my skin to show change, so I’ll be patient. My pores are much tighter. That’s about it. In this photo, I have tinted moisturizer on, a light eye shadow, and mascara.

I'm 43 years old with decent skin, but am starting to see minor laxity around my jawline and upper eyelid. More importantly though, when I smile the skin around my upper cheeks (closest to my hairline) and around my mouth are scrunching the skin, into which would eventually become fine lines one day, and already was trapping my makeup into it-- overemphasizing the wrinkling. I have been getting Botox and IPLs since I was 33, and more recently, filler. My plastic surgeon recommended 3 rounds of a combination of Morpheus8, to contour the fat pads drifting down my face--lifting the jawline and lower cheek area; and Fraxel for the skin wrinkling/sun damage/skin texture issue. I had read others' reviews that Morpheus8 is terribly painful, so I came mentally prepared for the worst. However, much to my surprise I didn't feel any pain, just some pressure. The fraxel definitely stung though. I was numbed up for 1 hour before the procedure, and even so, I could feel the burning sensation from the fraxel. No pain with the Morpheus8 though, so yay! In between swipes of the fraxel laser she would press an ice pack into my skin to cool it down. This gave me a 3 second break between each pass and made the treatment much more tolerable. I was offered laughing gas, but didn't need it with the technique she used. She had me wear a cooling mask for 5 minutes after the treatment. The laser procedure lasted about 25 minutes. Some of the tips that I thought were helpful to me were: don't do anything for the next 48 hours that might bring heat to the face. No exercise, alcohol, spicy foods, hot showers/tubs, coffee, tea, and obviously, no sun! Procedure day: my skin was red and blotchy. The immediate sunburn feeling went away after 45 minutes, and then suddenly came back hours later (probably because unbeknownst to me, I was starting to swell). I used an ice pack for 20 minutes and the stinging went away for good. 24 hours later: very swollen! Although, I don't think anyone else would notice. I'm less red and blotchy, and little brown spots (scabs?) are appearing on my face from the fraxel. Face is slightly itchy. Neck is irritated by shirt fabrics so I switched to a silk shirt. 48 hours later: more brown flakes appearing, still itchy. Face is still swollen. There's no way I could wear makeup right now or anything, maybe in a couple more days. I'll keep updating as time goes on. Humbling to put these unflattering photos online. :)
